What a movie!.... I was a little reluctant at first with the "winner 3 academy awards" label (we dont usually like the same flicks) but I actually enjoyed it... Wife hated it though... she cant watch a movie and read subtitles...

I didn't mind the subtitles.  I did not, however, think it was a great movie.  It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I thought it was OK. I did end up buying the 2-disc edition at Blockbuster in their 3 for $20 deal. So for only $6.67, I thought it was worth owning.

That's really a shame. There are so many GREAT films in languages other than English.

I bought this dvd('s) without any knowledge about the film - just blind. I was not disappointed - a real stunning film. Definitely a highlight in my humble collection

Saw it in a movie theater in Antwerp for the first time and absolutly loved it.

I have the Korean Special Edition and am very happy with it.

I just watched it this past Labor Day weekend after having purchased it on release day. I thought it was visually stunning, moving, oft times brutal and disturbing. I Didn't mind the subtitles in the slightest.

It wasn't quite what I expected, but I thought it was a great film. I saw it in the cinema with English and Chinese subtitles.

Although, through the whole film I somehow thought I had seen a similar story (the real world part anyway) before. But maybe that was just a weird case of déjà vu...

My personal favourite of his films is The Devil's Backbone. But Pan's Labyrinth is near the top.

Yep I liked it but I would like the choice of listening to it in english than reading sub titles!
