| Posted: | | | | Hey guys, Hmm, a Saturday with nothing to do but cleaning the house (which I'd happily put off ) - I'm thinking of doing something I've needed to do for years: buying a new scanner. Now my question is, what scanner do you use to scan DVD covers? I'm looking for a seperate scanner (not a printer/copier/scanner combination) and one that's not too expensive. Suggestions are welcome. | | | . · You are my center when I spin away. Out of control on videotape. On videotape · . |

It's a printer/copier/scanner, but you should be able to get it at a reasonable price. | | | Berak

| Posted: | | | | After a good round of shopping, it turned out that both stores I visited did not have the scanners I was interested in in stock (amongst others, the CanoScan 4400F). Time for some online shopping, then. | | | . · You are my center when I spin away. Out of control on videotape. On videotape · . |

| Posted: | | | | I have Epson 3170. Previous scanner was some Canon LiDE model, don't remember which one. Lide was much slower than Epson. If I had to buy a new scanner, that could be select Canon CanoScan 4400F (cheap and fast enough). |

| Posted: | | | | I use a CanoScan 4200F, and I'm very happy with the results. I usually have almost nothing to do in Photoshop afterwards. A little sharpening and straightening, and that's about it. |

| Posted: | | | | I use a Microtek ScanMaker 4100 to scan.
I scan at 800 or 600dpi. Most editing I do at the scanned resolution, saving the jpg at 100%. I then resize to a width if 800px, which results in a height of 1000 to 1200, depending on the cover I scanned and save with 90% quality setting, at which the visible quality is virtually the same but the file size a lot smaller. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan.
