I got sick of retailers slapping price/SKU stickers onto the slip covers that I created a petition that you can sign if you like here.

Thanks.

Can't agree. Especially when the freakin' rating is the same as the one printed as the canadian rating

Problem with online petitions is that they're only worth the paper they're on.

I signed too.

Those stickers are designed by marketing guys that have absolutely no idea of what they're doing!

Have you ever seen a marketing guy knowing what he does?

i work for best buy, and most media comes with the sticker already on it, in addition, when there is a slipcover involved, a lot of time there is a clear less sticky sticker placed on, then the price sticker.... check it out, it exists

Anchor Bay were actually doing just that, and the stickers came off easily, even though sometimes they were often not fully on that clear sticker!

Lately though, Anchor Bay/Starz have stopped doing that for some reason...so back we go to peeling those stickers off.

I really just wish the studios would start shrinkwrapping over the slip covers. Lions Gate has done that lately with some of their releases that come with slip covers.

Signed.
The newer price tags are just too strong of glue. I'm sure they're cheaper but they used to have the ones that came off easy without tearing.
The clear AB ones were nice while they lasted, but like Kat said, lots of price tags had edges off the safe sticker kinda defeating the purpose.
Shrinkwrap works but can crease the slipcovers if too tight. I'd say go shrinkwrap and no security stickers on the keepcase, but know I'm dreaming there.

Or better yet, why even tag them? Just have the price on the racks then it shows when scanned anyway. Sure we won't have anymore great "wrong price-tag" sales, but we won't have anymore dinged and scuffed covers either. I'll take that trade.

Most of the TAGS are put on at the distribution centers prior to shipping to the stores, I know Circuit City (use to), Kroger and Fred Meyer distribution centers all add stickers prior to shipment. As a Loss Prevention Specialist we spot check all DVDs, CDs, and Games because of security tags build in. About to only solution is for them to all come shrink wrapped from the manufacture.
