| | Posted: | | | | I decided since I am of Prussian/German decent and want to learn it anyways, I am going to try to learn German. Unlike when I took Japanese in high school, I figure genetics should be on my side this time.

So you can order 2 beers each for you and your five friends and after drinking it tell the waiter in a polite manner that it tasted like pee and was warm too. That's more than any German would expect of a foreign tourist and suffices for a trip from the coast to the alps. | | Posted: | | | | German is somewhat complicated for english speaking people. The most complicating thing is that we have three articles (der die das) instead of one (the) and they are not used in a very logic way.
Then there is the formal/informal thing (sie/du), illogical declinations, conjugations etc.
In other words, the german language is happy funtimeed up beyond repair.

Maybe I will go the Red Dwarf route and learn Esperanto Do you know anybody speaking Esperanto?? If I'm not totally wrong this was an artificial language invented as a universal communication solution. Which is quite funny, because what is English if not the universal language of the world (at least for the next 10 years)? | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
