No hoomans? What, you've never gone game hunting with a pistol? Its the new thing, gives the critters better odds. It's not a victory until we get our automatic weapons back. | | | Last edited: by mdnitoil |

You can have them now if you pass the FBI and local background checks and are willing to pay the $200 per item transfer tax. What you can't buy now is newly manufactured automatic weapons. I don't remember what the "manufactured after" date is, but anything manufactured before that date is still legal to own -- if you meet the National Firearms Act requirements (i.e., pass the FBI check and any local regulations/laws). | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? This is a monumental victory for both the NRA and the citizens of Washington DC . And a good reason why I am not anxious to see Barack Obama become the next President. At least McCain will nominate the right people to fill Court vacancies. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. | Posted: | | | | It certainly does look like the idealogical differences will come down to court appointments in this election cycle. That's about the only area where either candidate strays from center...despite the rhetorical bunk being tossed around by the two campaigns. |

As a matter of fact I do quite a bit of my hunting with a handgun. I own this Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter .44 Magnum with a Leupold FX-II 2x20mm scope and I've bagged a few wild pig with it . Nice; never had the chance myself, living in the UK. Of course, even though only for target shooting, they forced me to give up my .357 S&W 686, which I occasionally mounted a scope on, when the law changed here... <sarcasm>which I notice has hugely reduced the gun crime as it was stated it would</sarcasm> | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

Its illegal to hunt with a pistol here, its not powerful enough. Here you can only use the pistol as the "finish him" weapon if the first shot didnt kill the animal, or if the animal is in a trap. Other then that pistols can only be used for "sports" shooting. What i find strange about US gun laws (from my point of view), is that theres the gun crazy ones that want to walk with a pistol in their holster at all times (maby a small exaggaration ), and then theres the ones that want to ban all weapons. I hear very little "middle ground" stuff coming from there. | | | Last edited: by whispering |
