| Posted: | | | | from IGN: On May 19, 2009 Lionsgate will finally release Terminator 2 Skynet Edition on Blu-ray. Fans of the ultimate action film can see and hear multiple versions of the movie in explosive, THX certified high-definition and all-new English Lossless DTS-HD Master Audio. The disc is loaded with over 8 hours of interactive Blu-ray content including over 140 minutes of behind the scenes video and multimedia galleries, storyboard-script views, audio commentaries, quizzes and games – plus additional BD-Live enabled content featuring games and more that is accessible on Internet-connected players. In addition, the Terminator 2 Skynet Edition Blu-ray (SRP $29.99) will be available for a limited time in the Limited Edition T2 Complete Collector's Set (SRP $174.99), a 6-disc set that allows the ultimate T2 fan to play the film anytime, anywhere! Packaged with a 14" T-800 Endoskull bust that plays sound effects from the film while its eyes light up, this collectible set features the Terminator 2 Skynet Edition Blu-ray plus both the Extreme Edition DVD and Ultimate Edition DVD – which, combined, include every T2 special feature ever released on DVD. As a bonus, the Limited Edition T2 Complete Collector's Set comes with a digital copy of the film for iTunes or Windows Media. Bonus features include: * Multiple THX-certified high-definition versions of the film * All-new English 6.1 DTS-HD Master Audio Lossless * Picture-in-picture of behind the scenes video, text commentaries and multimedia galleries * Storyboard-script mode – view storyboards and read the script while watching the film * Interactive quizzes and games * BD-Live enabled, featuring games, extra content and more for Internet-connected players * Audio commentary with 26 cast and crew members * Audio commentary with director James Cameron and co-writer William Wisher * Enhanced for D-Box Motion Control Systems * Includes THX Optimizer Seems a little overkill for me, but that packaging is sweet. | | | My phpDVDprofiler collection |

| Posted: | | | | Looks like a direct port of the German Kinowelt edition that can be ordered here. I'll hang on to my HD DVD edition though, besides I would never let anything looking like that into my house! | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | Never did buy this movie and I'm guessing this won't be the edition that tempts me. I think I'm waiting for the "T2 plus a check for 50 bucks" version. |

| Posted: | | | | Looks very cool, but I'll go with the $29.99 version. I already have the Extreme and Ultimate editions, and that's just too much extra to pay for what I already own and a novelty item. | | | Corey |

| Posted: | | | | I have the Planet of the Apes bust and the Nightmare Before Christmas bust. I will probably buy the T2 bust as well. $174.99 does sound like a lot, but that is the SRP and it should end up costing much less. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. I am all over this, depending a little bit on what actual retail price will be and the content of the 6 discs... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

| Posted: | | | | I just found this at Blu-ray.com: Quote: Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced that they will release 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day - Skynet Edition' to Blu-ray on May 12th. Additionally, Lionsgate will release the 'Limted Edition T2 Complete Collector's Set', a six disc set which will feature the Blu-ray release of the film along with Extreme Edition DVD and Ultimate Edition DVD versions of the film and a digital copy. I am not sure I want to pay for DVDs of previous relealses just to get that head statue. I probably just stick to the regular release then... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | This is promising, from http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=2425 down the thread 4th on the third page, but why would they offer the blu-ray with multiple copies and the bust with the same copies on individual dvd's?

I guess it depends on how you look at it. From my point of view, I am paying for the T-800 bust and the DVDs are just a bonus. I like this kind of movie 'swag' so my p.o.v. is skewed that way. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Admittedly, I was trying to be reasonable to myself, which usually there is no room for with decisions like this. Í understand the Blu-ray will probably have all three known versions. The Blade Runner set set also had the bonus features on regular discs, which would be the point of the having the older editions. I guess it will mostly boil down to price... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |
