I am sure at least some of you know the story about my wife, Dawn. She passed away almost 14yrs ago shortly after giving birth to our daughter. And believe it or not... I haven't been with a woman since! She is my one and only.

Anyway... While going through some stuff today I found a couple old high school pictures of her... and I thought I would share them.

This first one was unfortunately damaged in storage... I tried to clean the image a bit but really didn't have much luck with it.

This one is from the same time... but in much better shape.

So what do you guys think?.... not bad huh?
Pete

She was lovely--and she died so young.

I lost my beloved 5 1/2 years ago.

I understand how important are those photos for you. So I tried to improve the first one. But as Darklynoon, I think it would not be to betray Dawn to have now a new life, after all those years.

All the best

Thanks everyone!

For the record... not that I am against starting over again... at least I haven't been against it for the last several years. I just never actively looked for it. Pretty much if it happens it happens type of thing.

And Thank You Very Much Yves... came out great! I really appreciate it!

Lovely pictures, Pete. You must have had an awfully difficult time back then. I hope you can still see some of your wife every time you look at your daughter.

And Yves, that's a very nice thing you did there! Great job!

I think the wolman got lucky...VERY lucky.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Man, I've lost both parents, all grandparents and a few good friends and still can't begin to understand how losing the person you love, that you somehow found and clicked with, could feel. I think about my girlfriend/soon to be wife, and I'm not sure if I could even go on without her right now.
I'm sure having children would give me that extra incentive to exist, but as of now we don't have kids and if she was to not come home today I'm not sure what would happen.

So sorry for your loss. I'm sure finding pictures is bitter-sweet. Congrats on making it through what has to be among the worst events anyone with a soul can endure. I wish you all the best in the future.

For what it's worth, looking for love never worked for me. When I gave up and stopped it found me, so I think you're probably on the right track if you're thinking about starting over. I wish you happiness and contentment wherever the road of life leads you next. If you don't want to start over that's well within your rights too. My dad never did. My mom passed in 1993 and he went 2006. I recall he signed up for a dating service once, but wasn't happy that the woman he met wanted to go party and drink despite her profile saying she didin't (dad never drank, smoked, did drugs, etc.). He never bothered to look again after that. Can't say he was a happy man those last years (looking back, I'm not sure he was a happy man ever though ), but he seemed to accept it. He was also early 60's when she passed.

Thanks for sharing, even if it is hard to read.

She has very kind and loving eyes.

Pete I understand what you must have been feeling all these years but I also understand that when the time is right a good woman will enter your life and you will know it.

Again best of luck to your mom and your family.
