| Posted: | | | | What??????
Sell my DVDs??????
Are you out of your mind?????????
Seriously, though, as I replace DVDs with Blu ray, I donate the DVDs to the VA Hospital (Veteran's Administration, for you non-U.S. folks).
I've got about 60 that need to be delivered. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | I sell (and trade) DVD's from my collection all the time. Mostly its ones that I've replaced on Blu-ray, or purchased newer DVD editions that effectively make the old DVD obsolete.
I don't sell them off right away of course. I make certain that the new release really is superior in every way, or else I'll probably just hang on to it. Otherwise, I have little need to keep them eating up my shelf space.
Case in point:
The House on Sorority Row DVD (1983) - the old DVD from Elite had a nice Progressive transfer. The new "25th Anniversary Edition" uses the same transfer (with colors tweaked a little) but downgrades it to Interlaced for some reason.
In that case, I'll gladly keep my old DVD. | | | Corey |

| Posted: | | | | I traded a bunch of stuff on SwitchPlanet, then the site went down and I was out about $200 worth of trade credits and essentially lost a bunch of discs for nothing. |

| Posted: | | | | I only sell/give away titles if I've got a newer version that's a decent upgrade. Most of the early Blu-ray titles lacked in extras so there I've kept the DVD version as well. |

| Posted: | | | | Never sold anything. But when I've something in double I trade or give it, so someone else will enjoy watching something I did also. |

| Posted: | | | | Over the past year I've weeded about 200 movies from my collection. Stuff I got at the height of my DVD addiction that I really shouldn't have ever purchased but did because they were cheap. I'll probably cull another couple of hundred this year.
The last batch was sold at a garage sale, and I'll probably do the same with the next batch. At $3 a pop, it adds up when you get rid of a lot of movies at once.

| Posted: | | | | Oh yes. Back in the early days of the format when it still payed to sell used DVDs. Now I just give my unwanted copies to family and friends, unless it's a blu-ray or HD DVD that they can't play. But only straight replacements, I always keep the movies I buy, even the bad ones. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | I've sold close to 200 titles. Mostly because they were replaced by better versions, or because they were so bad and uninteresting, I didn't want 'em to take up shelf space. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | Never thought about this. When I have better versions of a dvd I store the replaced dvd's in my "summer house" or caravan. | | | Thorsten |

| Posted: | | | | I sold a lot. Might as well get money while i can although have bought a few here and there through conversations with ppl about film.
Honestly though i don't want an entire collection of films mastered in some 50 year old resolution. Blu-ray is what i have been waiting for and im more than happy to wait for a lot of films to make it to the format while i enjoy watching what's already available on the format. |
