My collection of unwatched DVDs is getting out of hand! I now have a whopping 274 movies in my collection that I haven't watched yet. At least not since getting the DVD. There may be a few in there that I saw before getting the DVD. But I never seen since getting it.

As usual I am going to list below my Unwatched DVD Collection... This is my complete unwatched DVD collection. Including horror movies... which I will not watch until October... as well as the movies that is in the packages I am expecting. Since she told me her receipt says it should arrived today I figured it was safe to add them. Figuring even if they don't arrive today... they will most likely be here before the weekend is over.

My Thoughts:
A little explanation is needed on this one here at Invelos. At the other forum I am teased all the time because it is well known that I do not like music... no... not any type of music (I know... I heard it all... I am weird... it makes no sense... what-have-you). Anyway during one such time I was teased about doing a musical marathon or something like that. which lead to something like my not having enough in my collection even if I included my daughter's movies.  And I wouldn't be buying any. Which lead to a comment I made about if someone sent me one... then I would watch it. And of course my friend that sent me those dvds did not forget that comment and sent me this movie. Well a promise is a promise she sent it... I have to watch it. 

Ok... what to say about the movie. First let me say... wow.. this one has a lot of music in it. Made it impossible to just ignore the music like I can normally do. Which kinda sucked for me... because the movie can't change how I feel about music. It is what it is... and there is nothing I can do about that. Now the story on the other had I enjoyed very much. Such a detailed look at his life... both the good and the bad. Instead of starting the movie from the beginning and going in chronological order (which I normally prefer) this movie uses flashbacks. I normally don't care for flashbacks because they can easily make a story confusing. But in the case of Ray the flashbacks works extremely well and I think makes a more powerful movie. I've only known Jamie Foxx as a comedian... but I must say he impressed me here. I thought he did a wonderful job in the title role.

I find it hard to believe that I am saying this... but this is one musical I am glad I have in my collection... and yes... I can see myself watching it again. So there you go... a surprise for both of us. A surprise for you all that I actually watched a musical... and it being the first one in my marathon. As well as a surprise for me as I enjoyed it much more then I thought I would.

My Thoughts:
OK... What do I think about this one? Coming freshly out of it... I found it entertaining for sure. But for some reason I was expecting more laugh out loud moments. I found it to be a fun... silly story... but not something to really laugh at. But I did have a good time watching it. Glad I have it in my collection now.

Being such a big Sandra Bullock fan I been wanting to see this one... especially since she won the Oscar for her role in it. And I must say... it is an Oscar she deserved. She was definitely excellent in this film. I also thought that Quinton Aaron did a fantastic job as well. I enjoyed every minute of this movie. The story is very well told. Frikkin' loved this movie. Wasn't sure I would. I'm a HUGE Sandra Bullock fan (you should've seen me when she won the Oscar... it was an embarassing sight) but I had ZERO desire to see this film. I trugged it to the theatre because it was Bullock, and walked out of the theatre completely in love with it. I saw it in the theatre four times, and have watched it five times on blu-ray so far.
