| Posted: | | | | 14 Days of Romance MarathonWhat with February 14th (Valentine's Day) quickly coming upon us... this year I thought I would take this opportunity to watch 14 days of Romantic Movies and Valentine's Day Episodes of TV Series. So starting TOMORROW (2/06/11) I will begin this marathon! Movie wise I plan to concentrate mostly on Romantic Comedies... but any romance movies will be allowed. So for the next two weeks I will be watching people fall in love till I am ready to puke! Going by what DVD Profiles says I have with the Genre of Romance I should have about 100 movies I can choose from. Many of which I have never seen before... so hope the ones I haven't has the correct Genre on it! I also have 30 Valentine Day episodes of TV Series I can watch through-out the marathon as well. Hopefully I will get a nice amount watched over the next couple weeks! | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Title: See Jane Date Year: 2003 Director: Robert Berlinger Rating: NR Length: 90 Min. Video: Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: N/A Stars:Charisma Carpenter David Lipper Joshua Malina Evan Marriott Cameron Mathison Eddie McClintock Plot:Featuring Antonio Sabato Jr. (TV's Melrose Place) and Evan Marriott (TV's Joe Millionaire), See Jane Date is a hilarious romantic comedy that will resonate with anyone who's ever vowed never to fall in love again—but couldn't help it if they did! Jane Grant ( Charisma Carpenter, TV's Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has just received an invitation to her younger cousin's wedding, and it is engraved with two of the most dreaded words a perpetually available single can encounter: "plus guest." Come wedding day, Jane had better deliver. After all, she's already told everyone, including her meddlesome Aunt Ina ( Linda Dano, TV's General Hospital) and now-famous high school nemesis Natasha Nutley ( Holly Marie Combs, TV's Charmed) that she's in a serious relationship. Now Jane has two months to find a guy to fit the lie, and save face. If the series of miserable set-ups orchestrated by her well meaning best friends Eloise ( Rachelle Lefevre, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind) and Amanda ( Sadie LeBlanc, Get Over It) are any indication, Jane's in for big trouble. From first date to blind date, from double-date to last date, the match game is on—and with millions of men to pick from, Jane is sure to find Mr. Right, right? Extras:Scene Access Bonus Trailers My Thoughts: I originally blind bought this movie for my love of 2 of the actresses in this movie. Holly Marie Combs (Charmed) and Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel). As it says above... this is a made for TV movie.... one that While it was a slow start... once I started to get into it turns out to be a movie I really enjoyed. It was fun seeing these 2 actresses in a non-supernatural role. Unfortunately this DVD has no movie related extras what so ever. My Rating: 3.5/5 | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Title: Return to Me Year: 2000 Director: Bonnie Hunt Rating: PG Length: 116 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars:David Duchovny Minnie Driver Carroll O'Connor Robert Loggia Bonnie Hunt David Alan Grier Plot:Who knew that when he ordered the special, he'd get the dish of his life? David Duchovny ("The 'X'-Files") and Minnie Driver ( Good Will Hunting) ignite sparks in this "warm-hearted winner" (Jeff Craig, Sixty Second Preview) about a widower and a waitress who meet and fall in love. Featuring an incredible all-star cast, this hilarious romantic comedy delivers a lot of laughs, tears and joys that will make your spirits soar. It took a lot of coaxing to get Bob (Duchovny), a recently widowed architect, to go on a blind date at a quirky Irish-Italian eatery. Once there, he's smitten instantly...not with his date, but with the sharp-witted waitress, Grace (Driver). With unsolicited help from Grace's match-making Grandfather (Carroll O'Connor), Bob asks her out. And as their relationship blossoms, everything seems to be going great, until an unbelievable truth is revealed...one that could easily break both of their hearts for good. Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Deleted Scenes Music Videos Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This one has some good cast in it... so I was looking forward to checking it out. But what I didn't realize until I was a good half way through the movie is that this is a movie I caught a very small part of years ago at a relative's house but never knew what it was. They had it on cable when I went and it drew me in pretty quick... but we left shortly after we got there... and I never found out what it was. So not only was this a good movie... it is one I been wanting to see for several years now. I found this one to be a great story... very moving and fun at the same time. I like how they showed it as the heart being much more then a muscle that pumps blood. That there is something there... something special... something recognizable. This is one I definitely recommend... if you haven't seen this movie before... give it a chance. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Title: The Cutting Edge Year: 1992 Director: Paul M. Glaser Rating: PG Length: 101 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, French: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: French, Spanish Stars:D. B. Sweeney Moira Kelly Roy Dotrice Terry O'Quinn Dwier Brown Chris Benson Plot:Moira Kelly ( Dangerous Beauty, "The West Wing") and D. B. Sweeney ( Roommates, Memphis Belle) star as polar opposites who unite on the ice for a shot at Olympic gold in this inspirational romantic comedy from acclaimed director Paul M. Glaser ( The Running Man). Brimming with wit, charm and plenty of breathtaking sports action, The Cutting Edge is a real winner! She's a rich and refined pairs figure skater whose prima donna attitude has her skating solo. He's a brash, blue-collar hockey champion with a new injury and no future. With nothing in common but their dream of reaching the Olympics, Kate and Doug are each other's last resort. Reluctantly, they join forces, but its not long before the barbs — and sparks — start flying as the unlikely pair skate towards the opportunity of a lifetime: a chance at a medal...and a chance at love. Extras:Scene Access Feature Trailers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Pretty good movie... but I didn't care for it as much as the last couple I watched. Big difference from the last movie I watched. In the last movie it was love at first sight... but in this one... not so much. They started out the movie hating each other... then they skated around (pardon the pun) their feelings for each other for most of the movie. So much so in fact that I feel a little guilty watching it for this marathon. But as I said... a pretty good movie. I can see myself watching it again. It will be a while before I do though. | Posted: | | | | Title: The Lost Valentine Year: 2011 Director: Darnell Martin Stars:Jennifer Love Hewit Sean Faris Betty White Billy Magnussen Gil Gerard Plot:Based on the novel, The Last Valentine, by James Michael Pratt. When war separates lovers on their wedding anniversary Feb. 14, 1944 at LA Union Train Station, Navy pilot Neil Thomas makes a promise he isn't sure he can keep - to return to the train station safe by their next anniversary. My Thoughts: This is a movie I recorded off TV about a week ago or so. It is a pretty good movie. I did enjoy it. I liked seeing both Betty White and Jennifer Love Hewitt in this one. It is a sweet and touching story. But it did seem a bit slow at times. My Rating: 3/5 | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Title: The Good Witch Year: 2008 Director: Craig Pryce Rating: NR Length: 88 Min. Video: Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: N/A Stars:Catherine Bell Chris Potter Catherine Disher Peter MacNeill Allan Royal Matthew Knight Plot:A mysterious, yet charming woman arrives in a small town and causes a stir when people think she is an actual witch. The town's moral committee, lead by the mayor's wife, becomes convinced she is evil and begins a campaign to drive her out of town. This causes much stress to the town sheriff, a struggling widower, who is slowly developing feelings for the woman. As their relationship grows, the woman helps the sheriff's children, as well as several members of the community, face their problems and overcome personal obstacles. But is it common sense or magic that's helping the townfolk? And will they ever be able to accept her as one of their own? Extras:Scene Access My Thoughts: This is a movie I saw on cable not all that long ago... along with it's two sequels. And at that time I enjoyed every minute of it. Watching it for the second time today I enjoyed it just as much as the first. I really like the character of Cassandra Nightingale ( The Good Witch) and the lovely Catherine Bell did a wonderful job in the role. I couldn't imagine anyone doing it better. If there is anything I didn't care for though... it would be that the ending felt like it was settled a little quickly and easily. But that didn't really take away from the movie for me. After watching it the first time on Cable I was quick to see if these movies were on DVD. I was thrilled to find this one and ordered it on the next order I made. But unfortunately the two sequels have not been released yet. Hopefully they will be before too long. Also unfortunate is the fact that this DVD release has no extras what so ever. | Posted: | | | | Title: When Harry Met Sally...: Collector's Edition Year: 1989 Director: Rob Reiner Rating: R Length: 95 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, French: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars:Billy Crystal Meg Ryan Carrie Fisher Bruno Kirby Steven Ford Lisa Jane Persky Plot:From acclaimed director Rob Reiner (The Princess Bride) comes this "explosively funny" (Newsweek) romantic comedy classic starring Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan. One of the most beloved romances of all time, When Harry Met Sally... is "shimmering [with] intelligence and humor" (Boxoffice) as it exposes "the kind of truth about relationships that hasn't shown up in movies before" (New York)...or since! Sex always gets in the way of friendships between men and women. At least, that's what Harry Burns (Crystal) believes. So when Harry meets Sally Albright (Ryan) and a deep friendship blossoms between them, Harry's determined not to let his attraction to Sally destroy it. But when a night of weakness ends in a morning of panic, can the pair avoid succumbing to Harry's fears by remaining friends and admitting they just might be the perfect match for each other? Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I have heard good things about this movie many times over the years... but this is the first time I am actually seeing it for myself. I went into this one hoping that all the good things I heard wouldn't make my expectations of this one too high. And I must admit I was expecting a little more from it... but even with that said I enjoyed it quite a bit. Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal work well together. I didn't get the chance to check out the extras on this disc... so I may just save them for the next time I watch the movie. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

New foes arise, including the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Old friends depart, consumed by the fearsome wrath of Hell. Through it all, the Winchesters are targeted by demons and angels alike, who warn that each brother has a special and terrible role to play in the coming devastation. This harrowing 6-disc, 22-Episode Season Five follows Sam and Dean on their most terrifying journey yet, one that may lead them to the only ally strong enough to defeat the Devil: God. Episode Watched:My Bloody ValentineStupid Cupid On Valentines Day, the brothers are out for cherub blood when the laughing love god goes rogue, causing sweethearts to die - and kill - for love. But then a man perishes from a Twinkie gorge-athon and the guys realize something more is going on. My Thoughts:This is a good episode as usual (I always did like this show)... Though it did kinda forget it was a Valentine's day episode about half way through. But what they did do with the Valentine's Day theme was fun... I especially got a laugh on how they did the cupid.
