In my purchase price I enter what I ultimately paid. That includes shipping costs, custom fees as well as discounts.

If there's more than one item in the order I split the non-item costs evenly across all items. I've written myself a small Excel macro for this. You can find the file here. In the first sheet you simply enter the basic data and in the second the item prices. Then you just press a button.

Same for me. One could argue that this way I would have to include 'fare' when I buy at a local store, but as only ~10 of my 1000 titles are bought at a such a store the point is somewhat moot.

I include the cost of shipping, but never the tax. However, I rarely ever order online and when I do, I try to order enough to get free shipping. I buy locally so if there's a problem, I can return it.

I never have shipping costs.  If I need it quicker than Amazon can provide, I go to Best Buy.

This is me... I put in the cost of the DVD itself... not what it cost to get to me (or any other charges). I am a pretty literal person and in my eyes that is not what I paid for the DVD... but for other things.

I currently enter the total cost of acquiring a disc because, quite frankly, that's what it cost me to acquire it.  This includes the cost of the disc, shipping, tax or fees, and any discounts.

In some cases I don't pay shipping and handling but in other cases I do since I don't want to limit myself to only those that provide free shipping.  In addition I've imported discs from other countries and it's rare that the shipping is free.  I've also moved around quite a bit and not everywhere I've been is tax free nor has the same tax rate.

So in the end, I like knowing what I spent on the physical product, or the shipping, or tax, etc.

I guess that's the long way of saying I record the cost in the same manner as DJ Doena. 

I put the actual cost... not sure how shipping/duties/taxes aren't for the DVD/Blu-ray.  If you didn't buy the Disc you wouldn't have had to pay the fees, IMO the true cost of buying it.  At least that is how I use the field.
