I don't see what the big mystery is. Ether one he is broke again or two he is dead. Im sure none of you want to entertain the thought of the latter so let's just go with the former.

Let's be thankful to know that this site is not all that Skip devotes his life to, and being a complete condescending a hole in how he conducts himself here as well. No Skip is human and is more concerned with just putting bread on the table at the moment.

Rather than putting a disc into a machine or data into a database. Skip is 60 something im sure he is big enough to take care of himself

That's at least two possibilities.

Another is that he's in the hospital. Perhaps in ICU.
And I'm sure that there are other possibilities too.

That said, I know by his previous posts that it seemed that he was depressed due to what was happening in his personal life. Sadly some can't cope and take a way out. Hopefully that's not what he's done.

In regards to this thread, I think it's rather nice that as an online community that many care about a fellow member. Even those that disliked him. Nothing wrong with having some compassion towards another.

IN any regard, I hope that all is indeed well with him where ever he is. And if it's the worst case scenario and he is dead, than may he find some peace.

When Skip is away the forum always seems ho-hum .....
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

I like ho-hum.....at least opposed to that other state it used to be in...

I hope Skip is the best he can be whereever he is.

Well if you had a lot of money where set then lost it cause of some greedy corporate f#cks. As a result forced to work in a menial monotonous job when your 60 something years old i don't think the word depression begins to cover it.

More like torcher is the word that describes it.

I have suffered from depression since i was 5 and very well adapted to it. Someone of Skips age who i imagine might have never suffered depression in there whole entire life won't have the same tolerance  towards it.

Does that make him suicidal then? Only from the posts he made on here can i make judgements about his character and from what i read i don't think he would be the type to kill himself so easily.

Geeze people. What's with the extreme speculations?

Granted Skip is more of a "fixture" of the forum than many, but even regulars can come and go. Some vanish without a trace for no known reason never to return. Some leave and reappear months or years later. It's the fact that every time (since this is by far not the first) that he vanishes people start wondering again, but he's always come back at some point.

On one forum I visited off and on, the creator/programmer of a the key project for a decade suddenly vanished and after speculations, his brother (according to the note) left a message on his MySpace or Facebook that said he had died.

Three or four years later, he returned. He just wanted to get away from everything, didn't think that he would ever return, and he felt faking his own death was the easiest way to "vanish" without constant speculation and searching for him. A cruel thing to do to his loyal members, for sure, but still the choice he made.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

He who MUST get the last word in on a pointless, endless argument doesn't win. It makes him the bigger jerk.

So you think all sexagenarians with monotonous jobs are arsonists?  Strange.

By the way, I work daily with a member here and he doesn't visit the forums for months at a time, so what's the big deal?  IMO people should stop speculating about others' private lives.

Nothing would torture a torcher like not being able to pour petrol through a letter box.

Did you really just liken the inability to spell, and poor grammar...two things that are easily corrected...with being in a wheelchair?

Why, so people can continue to speculate publicly about Skip's finances, health, and state of mind?  I'd like to see that end.

I was under the impression that you had asperger's.  I work with kids, ages 3 to 23, with physical and mental impairments...a few of them with aspergers...and this is the first I have heard that bad spelling was one of the characteristics.  If it is, I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Skip is just working with one of the biggest and most secure databases in the universe or some other of he's 101 professions, so no worries. I hope his personal life is OK but I don't miss him here.
