Tried downloading the plugin today, skydrive just sits there not doing anything, and fileserve says it's been removed?

Hi Paul
I just tried the skydrive. It worked fine. 3:32 PM EST USA (GMT -5). I was able to go right to the plugins, and when I clicked on the 0.4 version, it started to download.

As for Fileserve, you or I can contact Oliver and ask the question.  I'm not sure what's up there.

Let "us" know how you make out

Dave

thanks for this, I'll try again tonight (I've been away for a few days..)

Hello Guys,

I know there is a long time I didn't give news, but I was busy with other things.

I have now placed the files to download on sendspace (check my site to get the new urls).

I also have problem with my eclipse/android sdk installation, as I cannot run the app on my device from eclipse. The connection stops (adb connection error). I cleared the install, and re-installed from scratch, but the problem persists.

Before this problem, I was working on a 'genre filter' dialog, and had some problems with the scroll.

I hope I'll can fix my install very soon, and continue working on it.

Thank you.

Olivier.

I tried sendspace at work but this has been blocked by the council where I work so I tried sjydrive again and this time it worked. I do notice that with skydrive every time I go in it defaults to trying to download beta.01. (but I downloaded the b04 version).

I'll take the file home and hopefully that will install fine.

for the apk file - I sed the version that was in the separate 'droid dvd release' folder - b02. I assume this was correct? And I shouldn't have tried the version which was in the export plugin folder?

I removed the unnecessary files, so there is only last one plugin & apk.

I also found that it was my new rom (KingCobra 1.9) that was causing the connection errors in Eclipse/ADB. I will search how to correct this, and if no solution, move to another rom.

well.. it's yes and no. I couldn't get the plugin to find the directory on mu samsung galaxy s2 so I've had to copy all the files over manually - just about to start copying more image files.. this is what is taking so long.. and I don't have any means of removing ones which are no longer correct since I can't sync,

of course since Invelos still can't do anything this is miles better..

Hi.
Can you put your phone into  "disk mode", or whatever it might be called, and then find the Droid DVDP folder on your SD card using Windows explorer?  Once mounted on your machine it should have a letter, you find x:\droid dvdp\ (x=drive letter).

Then check copy database to device, and synchronize covers and run export collection.

You should be all set from there.

Let us know how things go!

if I put it into disk mode (with drive letters) then I can't open the two disks.  They seem read / write protected. I can click on them all I want but they don't open.

If it isn't then I can see the directory but it has no drive letter.

it seems the same situation as this

OK. This is beyond my level of knowledge.  I have no idea why the discs would show/act as write protected.
Have you tried: Right click, properties, uncheck read only, yes to all subfolders? It might be worth a shot.

This may be because you have set (on your device) "USB-Debugging" to "ON".
Go to:
Settings > Applications > Development
and switch "USB-Debugging" to "OFF" (i.e.: NOT checked).
Then you can connect your device to your PC and use it as a harddisk, i.e. you can access the driveletters from your Windows-Explorer like you can with any ther harddrive.
You can then copy files from PC to device and vice versa to your likings.

Some good news :

The Skydrive link is fixed for the plugin.

My development environment is fixed, so I can start working again

Hi Tom.
At least on the HTC phones, USB debugging can stay checked. Anything is worth trying tho.

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note (with Gingerbread) and there it is definitely NOT possible to connect the phone to the PC as a harddisk with USB-Debugging ON!
But it may be different for other brands (or versions of Android),
I gave the advice only because switching OFF the USB-Debugging solved all my problems I had with the Plug-In, so I thought it may be worth telling!?

Especially as the guy has a Samsung Galaxy S2 which works the same way as my Samsung Galaxy Note!

Cheers,
Tom

I'm lost at the moment as well.

I'll try and see any properties next time I connect it. Others seem to be happily using the same phone.

if i switch debugging off then the drive letters disappear and all I can see for the phone is a setting at the bottom for the phone name (i.e no drive letter).

As this is my first Android phone it's all new to me, but hopefully something will just start working.

Android was new to me too, as my Samsung Galaxy Note is the 1st Android phone I ever owned (I was a HTC/Windows Mobile 6.5 user before).

Here's how I (properly) connect my device to the PC as a Harddisk:

1.) Make sure that USB Debugging is OFF (Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging NOT checked;
2.)Go to Settings
3.) Tap on "Wireless and Networks"
4.) Tap on "USB-Connection"
5.) Tap on the button "Connect storage to USB
6.) A small window "USB Connection" appears, telling you to connect your USB-Cable in order to use the mass-storage
7.) ONLY NOW (and NOT EARLIER!!!) connect the USB-cable to your device (the USB-Cable should ALREADY be connected to your PC or USB-HUB on the other end!!!);
8.) Now a green Android window appears with a button at the bottom "Connect USB Storage"
9.) Tap on that button
10.) a new smaller window appears "Connect USB-storage" with another button "OK"
11.) Tap on the "OK"-button
12.) wait a little while, until the green Android turns its colour to orange
13.) only now your Android device is properly connected to your PC and you can browse your files and folders on the phone using the Windows Explorer as you would with any harddisk directly connected to your PC.

Hope that helps!?
