| Posted: | | | | I'm kinda glad that INVELOS doesn't have DVDPM for the Android OS, my reasoning is they just dropped the android 2 OS I say let em' get the kinks out of the os.. I'm a firm beleiever in not being to quick to jump on the latest gadget til it's proven to work @ least 90% of the time..(I learned my lession when i rushed and brought the HTC Touch Pro (I now have the Touch Pro 2 ).. I want the HTC EVO but until I can have DVDPM on it; I wont get it.. SOOOO PLEAE INVELOS MAKE DVDP FOR THE ANDROID So I can stop carring this brick called a phone...LOL |

| Posted: | | | | slight setback in the development. My Desire packed in.. developed the reboot loop problem and has been sent off to HTC for repair under warranty. Although I can (and do) code and test without the actual physical phone present I don't like the emulator as it just doesn't give you the same "kinesthetic feedback". In the real world I'll use my stubby little fingers to click buttons etc not a mouse and pointer. apologies for continually moving the goalposts on this. But I'm not motivated into doing much in the way of Android development until my phone comes back from repair. if it's any consolation, since I stopped using my DVD app on my desire I've since managed to double up on at least 5 recent DVD purchases so I am motivated to finish this.. even if it is only to ensure I don't buy duplicate DVD's in the future and save my bank balance can't give you a timeframe as I don't know how long it's going to take, but on the android developers forum this was discussed and the average timescale is around 28 days. I'm hoping I get it back before then.. am hating this nokia 1800 I'm having to use in the meantime ! (it's very hi tech.. it does Texts AND calls !!) |

Update.. They couldn't repair my phone.. it's gone off to the great smartphone graveyard in the sky. However as (a) they couldn't fix it and (b) because it took them so darn long to tell me they couldn't fix it.. I'm getting a new Desire HD at the end of the week so factoring in some *ahem* Play time with my new phone I should be able to recommence development / testing this weekend. I should just point out at this ..erm.. point that as this is NOT AN OFFICIAL invelos app and only has the XML output to work on it's a READ ONLY APPLICATION. As much as I would like to offer the same functionality as the windows mobile version (updating loans etc ) I cannot. I am however, working on code linked to the google shopping API .. in theory (not working yet but it should work) I should be able to search for and subsequently add DVD's to my mobile collection, then export a list of UPC codes for subsequent manual import into the Main DVD profiler app. this isn't tested (in fact it's barely half coded ) but hopefully this will go some way towards a smarter "Linking" between the two apps. it's close guys.. so close I could sit on it.. (I did actually type something else there.. sounds like sit.. but had an extra H in the second character position ) we're that close ! Watch this Space. |

Yes you are You know what I mean.. new toy.. time spent investigating it's features. playing around with the bigger screen, installing some games just to try out the graphical capabilities (the only reason I'd play games .. honestly ) |

It would in theory be possible to add some features through the plugin system of DVD Profiler. I do not know how you feed data to your app, but my WP7 app got the data from a website (which was then fed by the XML and images). It would be possible to post data back to the website and then having a plugin in DVD Profiler read it back and apply changes to the collection. Not that I could ever be bothered building it myself, but then - I am lazy. | | | Regards Lars |
