| Posted: | | | | Firefly . Most awesomest series ever. Dark Angel. Really fun first season. Crappy start of season 2, with better second half. Would've liked to see more, since Alba was absolutely amazing in it. I'm pretty sure Dark Angel is and will be the only thing Alba did right in her acting career. I was prrrrrrrrring like a cat EVERY time | | | |

| Posted: | | | | thanks john for adding Space: Above & Beyond to the SciFi list... added another vote for Firefly. one of my favorites that got jerked was Profit with Adrian Pasdar--nicely twisted. can we all agree that FOX has a really bad track record for greenlighting great shows and killing them before their prime? I'm also bummed that Studio 60 got tossed aside for "real wedding crashers"; it was just getting it's legs then got them cut off from under it. of course the biggest loss from my youth (which is going to age me) was the cancellation of Dark Shadows way back when. It may look hockey now, but they certainly could have ripped off several hundred more horror plots to keep Barnabas, Quentin & co going for many a year. krik | | | "Vampirism is still not a disease, Julia. | Posted: | | | | Space was indeed a great show.
I also want to add "Babylon 5". Given, it wasn't cancelled but the Sword of Damocles of cancelling was hanging over their head during the fourth season and they therefore decided to bring the story to an end with the end of season 4 which then left us with that boring beginning of the fifth season. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

It was like riding a dead horse. One cannot invent a more powerful enemy over and over again. First Apophis, then Anubis, then Baal, the the Ori. I got the feeling, I was reading the Dragonball mangas in which also a more powerful enemy emerged after the last one has been defeated - again, and again, and again. IMHO Stargate should have ended with the season 8 finale. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Firefly Although the way Fox messed with it, the cancellation was to be expected from the get-go.
Carnivale That cancellation started the downward spiral of HBO. A few years ago, they had so many fantastic drama series and look what's left now. | | | Matthias |

Thats definately not the first time i've heard that, i liked her in Into The Blue and Fantastic Four. But theres definately been a lack of choices given to her, in which she can truly flourish | | | Last edited: by whispering |

| Posted: | | | | 1. Carnivale (wasn't this meant to be 3 seasons?) 2. Deadwood (I wonder if we will ever get to watch the promised movie to wrap up the story) 3. Firefly (cant't wait for Serenity SE DVD) 4. Invasion (really enjoyed this one)
More recent shows that have been cancelled are:
- Drive - Black Donnellys - Life on Mars (UK) - kind of ended after 2 Seasons, would have enjoyed more and the end was... lame
It seems to be getting worse if the stations cant reach a certain amount of numbers within 4-5 episodes the show gets canned right away, just when you get into it!!!
Does anyone know of currently running shows which will not return? This is what I have been watching lately: Battlestar, Prison Break (no spoilers please still in mid of S2), Heroes, Medium, Jericho, Scrubs, My name is Earl, Supernatural, Numb3rs | | | - Life is just a form of animated death. |

It wasn't cancelled, they'd told the story and didn't want to drag it out just for the sake of it. Both the reasoning for that decision and the 'ending' are discussed on the making of feature on the second series DVD (R2 UK) Personally I think it's far better to end when you're done, something many other shows can learn from, the X-Files totally lost it's way after the first few seasons, as have many others. An older show I would have liked to have seen developed more is Starlost. Had an interesting premise and some good episodes (along with some standard 70's sci-fi cliched ones mind). | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | SG1 lasted 10 seasons and Amanda Tapping is moving to SG: Atlantis. 10 Seasons is a long time and I think it lasted as long as it did because of the SciFi channel. I odn't think Showtime would have ran with it that long.

Yeah, but now "Wedding Crashers" got dumped as well. What about "Quark?" - that was a pretty funny show. I also liked "Riptide." |

I also would have mentioned "Drive" - another Nathan Fillion show cancelled, thank you Fox ! To give a show the ax after just 4 episodes is insane. To me it looked very promising, I loved it from the start. Otherwise (like nearly everyone else): Firefly and Wonderfalls | | | Michael |
