Often these farms or ranchs are a long ways from a town, so you need something that won't break down, and cars and minivans just can't do the job.
And I can haul what ever I want.... I small house if necessary.... |

Seriously. I often see americans drive around in pick up trucks - what do you carry in the back? They usually have a lot more reason to own a pick-up than the ****** idiots in the UK who need a huge 4x4 to take the kids to school and which will never lay a tire off tarmac in their whole lives | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

I only bought a truck because I was tired of never being able to haul things around. I've used it to carry gravel to puts in the kid's play area. I've used it to haul things to the dump. I've used it to move big items from one location to another. And to bring all this back home, I used it to bring my 56" TV home. But I did buy a small pickup. I didn't get one of those big, giant trucks that so many like to drive around. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

/Mikkel Well, around where I live it seems almost everyone has a big truck - and they certainly do not live or work on farms. Most of those trucks and SUVs will never go off road. My wife drives a medium sized SUV - and to be honest I think it makes her feel safer ( and me ) to think of the extra metal between her and the other idiots weaving around while yacking inanely on cellphones. Man this is a good soap box topic |

I also agree that such vehicles are more at home in the US. But what I didn't appreciate until I actually went there, is the sheer size of the hulking monstrosities there. The average 4x4 in the US could swallow a shed. And that is ridiculous. I walked down the main road of Scottsdale and thought I'd wandered into a convoy! No way were all those for farm work. | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

| Posted: | | | | I think we owe it to ourselves to drive the most environmentally friendly vehicle possible. How much better can you do than one made out of cake? Mind you there would still be plenty of harmful gas by the time I'd done with it! | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

I live in Texas and gas is over $3 a gallon. I filled up yesterday and it was $3.32 per gallon. I agree there is a little bit of variation in price, but it is nowhere near half. |

| Posted: | | | | Now here's a big pickup. This mammoth pickup truck is closer to a semi than to pickup but International bills it as the world’s largest production pickup truck. No arguments there. Weighing in at 14,500 lbs. and based on a dump truck platform, the CXT is more than 21 feet long and 9 feet high. It boasts an International DT 466 diesel engine with 220 hp and 540 lb. ft. of torque capable of hauling or towing up to 6 tons, an Allison five-speed automatic transmission and a 70-gallon fuel tank. Don’t even bother asking about the fuel consumption, it will make you cry. |

Well, I guess the transporters have caught up with you. Can't imagine why they'd charge you that much when the refineries are much closer. We just had some friends from Venezuela visit last week. I asked Eliazar how much they paid for gas there, and he said $.37 a gallon. Of course, the whole country is floating on a sea of oil and they have more refinery capacity than they need to service their own use, so it isn't so surprising. | | | John

I bought it because it's easier to climb UP into the seat than it was to scoot DOWN into the seat of my Chevy Cavalier. And as I get older, I'm not as agile as I once was. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges.
