believe it or not you can use WD40 to remove the adhesive. Take out the label and then spray some WD40 on a paper towel and rub away the goo. Then use a little alcohol to clean the WD40 residue off.  A little extra work but it does work. Or you can do what I do is get new DVD cases and pitch the gooey ones. I'm lazy and don't really have a lot of time to clean that crap off. Except when it comes to the special cases or 2 disc cases.

It actually surprises me that, considering the power of the MPAA, they haven't managed to influence the size of the rating symbols on the cases in US.

The worst of them all is Australia, though. THEY are UGLY! The size of cigarette warnings  They're the reason I almost never buy Australian DVDs.

The new Australian ones are big and ugly. One or two distributors obviously agree because they have taken to printing an identical cover on the other side of the paper without the rating. Turn the cover art over and the problem is solved. If only everyone put that much thought into their releases.

Well the front cover is on display for the newer titles but once something is 'old stock' so they often only have one or two copies many shops tend to rack them differently... same as a bookshop really and the same about info applies to books too.

...and I'd take either over the majority of Canadian cover art we get..... bilingual...ugh!

Thanks sooooo much for printing it twice!

To remove the stickers of the R1 dvd's, peel it off as slowly as possible. This will leave less glue behind.
The glue that remains, in most cases, can be removed easily by using the sticker you just removed.
Just dip it multiple times on the remaining glue. Never try rubbing on the glue cause this will smudge the glue. If you just keep dipping on the glue it should come off completely.

Lighter fluid does the job too, and vanishes without a trace.

We use scotch tape, press it down and pull up quick, works most of the time. For the stubborn ones, take out the label, and rub small amounts of smooth peanut butter over the adhesive and wipe off with a paper towel.
