I disagree, I'd like to see both versions out.  While I've argued that putting more or less the entire focus on Laura Palmer makes the film more "intense" (no small breaks/breaths of air to meet this character from the series, then this, etc.) the film does have a good bunch of holes.  You never see Laura write the last entries in her secret diary, record the tapes to Dr. Jacoby, and so forth.  Forget the others right now.

While yeah, I'd like to see both versions as well, I highly doubt this will happen, since Lynch is well-known to have a delicious knack for ambiguity. I don't think he intended to spell the mystery out, which is part of its charm. I'd bet he prefers people to draw their own conclusions.

Or as he says: "It's better not to know so much about what things mean or how they might be interpreted or you'll be too afraid to let things keep happening. Psychology destroys the mystery."
Funny, these cookies don't taste anything like Girl Scouts.

I never trusted that Lara Flynn Boyle.  Too thin, and then in the movie she's someone else.  What's up with that?

Excellent TV series - one of the best I've seen.  I just recently finished watching it all the way through from the start and thoroughly enjoyed it all on the whole.  Of course there are some dud moments - has to be in that many episodes - but there are surprisingly few.

What other series do people think are similar in interest and complexity?  I suppose Lost and the Prisoner are two that spring to mind ( I think they are remaking the Prisoner as a modern show - should be interesting ). Any others anyone?
