It's called 'Flame Baiting'.  Most 'flame baiters' are happy with a nibble...thrilled with a bite...but you, you are a 'flame baiters' wet dream as you swallow the hook, line and sinker.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

This one will be released on Blu-ray as well, making it the first Spielberg title released in high definition, I believe.

More or less, if you don't count stuff like Imo Jiwa (he famously has a "hold" over films he's been involved with).

Guess this means we'll be seeing Jaws, BTTF, and others in the near future.

As for CE3K, three versions via seamless branching - very nice.  Blade Runner will do the exact same thing it appears.

I know what it's called, Unicus. It does not excuse the baiters behavior and he is the one who should be called for it.

My early understanding, Erik is that Blade Runner will not be via branching, but will instead be separate discs...at least to some degree. The Ultimate Edition which is going to be $80 will have FIVE discs.

Yes indeed, but one of those five disc will contain three versions of the film!

Here's how it'll be laid out (spoilers for the two people who haven't seen Blade Runner)...

- - -

Disc One

RIDLEY SCOTT'S ALL-NEW "FINAL CUT" VERSION OF THE FILM
Restored and remastered with added & extended scenes, added lines, new and cleaner special effects and all new 5.1 Dolby Digital Audio. Also includes:

    * Commentary by Ridley Scott
    * Commentary by Executive Producer/ Co-Screenwriter Hampton Fancher and Co-Screenwriter David Peoples; Producer Michael Deely and production executive Katherine Haber
    * Commentaries by visual futurist Syd Mead; production designer Lawrence G. Paull, art director David L. Snyder and special photographic effects supervisors Douglas Trumbull, Richard Yuricich and David Dryer

Disc Two

DOCUMENTARY DANGEROUS DAYS: MAKING BLADE RUNNER
A feature-length authoritative documentary revealing all the elements that shaped this hugely influential cinema landmark. Cast, crew, critics and colleagues give a behind-the-scenes, in-depth look at the film -- from its literary roots and inception through casting, production, visuals and special effects to its controversial legacy and place in Hollywood history.

Disc Three

1982 THEATRICAL VERSION
This is the version that introduced U.S. movie-going audiences to a revolutionary film with a new and excitingly provocative vision of the near-future. It contains Deckard/Harrison Ford’s character narration and has Deckard and Rachel’s (Sean Young) “happy ending” escape scene.

1982 INTERNATIONAL VERSION
Also used on U.S. home video, laserdisc and cable releases up to 1992. This version is not rated, and contains some extended action scenes in contrast to the Theatrical Version.

1992 DIRECTOR'S CUT
The Director's Cut omits Deckard's voiceover narration and removes the "happy ending" finale. It adds the famously-controversial "unicorn" sequence, a vision that Deckard has which suggests that he, too, may be a replicant.

Disc Four

BONUS DISC - “Enhancement Archive”

    * Featurette The Electric Dreamer: Remembering Philip K. Dick
    * Featurette Sacrificial Sheep: The Novel vs. The Film
    * Philip K. Dick: The Blade Runner Interviews (Audio)
    * Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep Cover Gallery (Images)
    * The Art of Blade Runner (Image Galleries)
    * Featurette Signs of the Times: Graphic Design
    * Featurette Fashion Forward: Wardrobe & Styling
    * Screen Tests: Rachel & Pris
    * Featurette The Light That Burns: Remembering Jordan Cronenweth
    * Unit Photography Gallery
    * Deleted & Alternate Scenes
    * 1982 Promotional Featurettes
    * Trailers & TV Spots
    * Featurette Promoting Dystopia: Rendering the Poster Art
    * Marketing & Merchandise Gallery (Images)
    * Featurette Deck-A-Rep: The True Nature of Rick Deckard
    * Featurette Nexus Generation: Fans & Filmmakers

Disc Five

WORKPRINT VERSION
This rare version of the film is considered by some to be the most radically different of all the Blade Runner cuts. It includes an altered opening scene, no Deckard narration until the final scenes, no "unicorn" sequence, no Deckard/Rachel "happy ending,” altered lines between Batty (Rutger Hauer) and his creator Tyrell (Joe Turkell), alternate music and much more.

Also includes:

    * Commentary by Paul M. Sammon, author of Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner
    * Featurette All Our Variant Futures: From Workprint to Final Cut

While there are many things that face us in this world. War, Famine, and such. I have decided I will only vote for someone who runs on the "Keep directors from going back and ruining good films!" It would called the the Spielberg-E.T./Lucas-Remastered Episode 6 with Hayden act.  And is perhaps the most important matter our world faces.

And our party logo would be a mashed potato mountain!

And how would this protect us? It's not like Orson Welles had the opportunity to go back & restore The Magnificent Ambersons or Touch of Evil to his original vision. (I do not consider the 1998 revised version of Touch of Evil to be Welles'... he wanted it to be full frame, not widescreen. Now the full frame version has yet to be released on DVD.)

Sometimes studios butcher a film more than directors do...
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

I never said it excused his behavior.  However, you can choose whether or not you react.  If you don't take the bait, then the flame baiter will have to stop or end up looking stupid.  When you react, well, everbody knows where that ends up...

My question remains basically the same, Unicus. Who did you challenge? I did not see you call the flame-baiter for his behavior, instead you challenged me for choosing to reply. Soimehow this seems wrong to me.

I didn't 'challenge' you, I simply pointed out that your actions are giving the 'flame baiter' exactly what he wants.  I didn't call him on it because I refuse to play his game.
