| Posted: | | | | Be honest... They both work for what we have them for right? I can't even remember why I didn't like dvdidle, I just recall not liking it. AnyDVD has been great ever since. | | | Last edited: by bigdaddyhorse |

| Posted: | | | | I tried both and they both did their job (I didn't try their decryption features at all though, only to play R1/R2 DVD's). I'm using AnyDVD now and I'd recommend it over DVDRegion+CssFree as it's been over a year since it was last updated. Also if you're using Vista or plan on using it, DVDRegion+CssFree is not compatible with it. And lastly, I don't think you can even buy DVDRegion+CssFree anymore. Quote: To purchase DVD Region+CSS Free, DVD Region+CSS Free Lite and DVDIdle Pro, DVDIdle, the online store will be back as soon as possible. For now, you can use the trial version for 90 days. Please check this web page later. That message has been there for almost a year now... | | | Mat |

I've been using DVDRegion+CssFree for many years to do region switching on my laptop and it even works with my "new" laptop with a DVD-RAM drive which it officially doesn't support for Region switching. And it is has been running on Windows Vista Business for the past 6 months without any hassle... I purchased mine many years ago, but I agree that for new customers being unable to purchase the software for such an extended period is bound to be irritating at best. I have a feeling they want customers to purchase DVDFab. | | | --- ¡Hola! |

The fact that CSS is broken now for over 10 years kinda makes it ineffective. Unfortunately, german law only covers an effective copy protection. |
