..to be honest, I didn't know that Stephen King was involved in this He wasn't really. Besides the title of the movie and the name of the main character the movie and the book do not have a single thing in common. For those interested Frank Darabont (directed The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, The Mist) will be taking on yet another King movie soon. Apparently he's going to do a remake of Fahrenheit 451 first, but after that he wants to do The Long Walk from King's pseudonym Richard Bachman. I've been waiting for someone to make that story into a movie for a long time so I'm really excited about it. Especially knowing it will be directed by someone with a track record of bring excellent versions of King's work to the screen. It's probably years away and I already can't wait. | | | "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men" - Douglas Bader "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." - Douglas Adams |

He doesn't have a credit in the movie, at least not the UPC I have, (haven't checked that disc myself but will soon) although you're right, that is another one of his short stories. I definitly have that one too, so bump me to 27. Might have Firestarter in an old stack in the basement as well. Can't remember if I sold that when it was OOP, pretty sure I did. |

That's the name he wrote the orignal short story under, but my profile for the DVD doesn't credit him. So I have one more to add to my list. Although the original poster did ask which profiles you have that credit King or Bachman. So this profile doesn't exactly meet the requirements. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. I'd be stunned if they keep it about kids, though...not too many studios would touch that, IMO. Would be an extremely dark film. | | | "I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question: Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?

| Posted: | | | | I've also seen that Frank Darabont has made 'The Mist' and it seems to be getting good reviews.
And according to IMDB The Talisman is in production as a TV miniseries and Cell is being prepped as a movie!! |

| Posted: | | | | I think I own all Stephen King adaptations available on DVD, except for "1408" (which I'll be buying in a month or so). There are only a handful which I really like, but I somehow ended up getting them all anyway I don't own the sequels (i.e. Children of the Corn 2-7, Sometimes They Come Back 2-3, Firestarter 2, Return to Salem's Lot, etc.). Some of my favorites are (in no particular order): -The Dead Zone (Cronenberg) -Carrie (De Palma) -Misery -The Shining (Kubrick) -Stand By Me -The Shawshank Redemption Looking forward to Darabont's "The Mist"! |

I think he is credited as Richard Bachman in The Running Man... He is credited as Richard Bachman on the rear cover of the DVD but not in the film's credits. The film is very loosely adapted from King's novel but, as far as I know, he did not participate in the film adaptation. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | I'm definitly remembering how Running Man shared only it's title with the Bachman book. I forgot to search for Bachman though, but figured he'd be linked to King anyway. Is the name linked to King? If no, why not? Just noticed that Desperation didn't show up on my credit search either. I can see why, my UPC (former rental version) has no crew at all, so a new audit is about to begin. Make that number 28 and climbing. EDIT: audit is up, UPC 031398-197355. Plug it in and vote, or just to make sure your version has the full cast (some in open credits without character names, more in end credits). The names in existing had characters too, which I checked against what looked like a legit Stephen King page (lost link, but it had his name in it) and they were all perfect, the rest had character names in end creds. Also matched with ABC.com, although their list wasn't complete. | | | Last edited: by bigdaddyhorse |

The Stand is my favorite novel, but The Mist is my favorite short story / novella. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |
