Well, what I mean are those TV-Series you are hooked right from the start!

24 is definitely the most addictive.

I totally agree! I'm waiting for season 6 with German audio track. And yes, I know - please don't call me names for that, but me and my family are used to watch dubbed films

Hi Guys,

For me:

Prison Break
Was a great show (previously mentioned) 'Picket Fences'
Malcolm in the Middle
Good Eats from the Food Channel
Curb Your Enthusiasm
60 minutes
Two & Half Men
American Idol

Normally I don't get to control the remote, long enough to add to the list.

24 and Heroes.  It's taken a few episodes, but I'm starting to enjoy Friday Night Lights.  Got that first season for some ridiculously cheap price and just started it.

I've come to favor 2 shows that I didn't watch when they first aired:

  • The West Wing.  I didn't watch it until the last couple of seasons because it espoused a political agenda that was 180° opposed to mine.  I knew it won a lot of awards, had good writing and all that, but it was far too Left Wing (as opposed to West Wing) for me.  Once I started watching, I realized that the good outweighed the bad, so I ended up buying the complete series (one year at a time though) on DVD.

  • Smallville.  I never watched the first couple or three seasons because I didn't think it could be all that good.  What, Superboy doesn't even fly!  But in about season 4 I started watching it because what was on the opposing channels didn't interest me.  Now I own all of the DVDs that have been released - and watch the current season religiously.
  • Another Ken (not Ken Cole)

So far, it has only happened twice to me, resulting in complete loss of contact to the outside world until the last episode has been watched:

The Shield did it first and Rescue Me was able to repeat it.

What made it worse is the fact that I watched the first couple of Episodes from The Shield when they first aired on Fox and then had to return to Germany.

So I forgot about it, rediscovered the seasons on Amazon one day, ordered the first three together and was gone from the world for four days straight (luckily I was off wotk during that time). The only person that saw mw during that time was the pizza delivery guy.

Thankfully, now the new seasons only hold me for a day (9 - 10 hours in one session, with food and beverage breaks)

Strangely 24 never gripped me that much, I can turn that one off pretty easily

Smallville was good in all seasons except for maybe the first few episodes of season 1 where the actors were still learning their characters.  Then it seems like every episode features a new super-powered "meteor freak".  Once they got away from that and started developing long-running plot lines, it was really good.

The one series I watched front to back was all five seasons of Babylon 5.

I am addicted to TV shows.

I watched all 22 (or 23?) episodes of Smallville season 5 in one day, I watched all 7 seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in less than one month and I watched all 236 episodes of Friends in 14 days.

Currently I am watching all the pilots of my TV shows.

It's so much so, that I don't watch any of my favorites as they air, but wait for the DVDs.
My friends find that most TV series are much more enjoyable if watched on DVD.
And also, new shows that show promise, I wait for those to come out on DVD.

I didn't have cable/satellite until just a few months ago. So, tv on dvd was the only way I saw tv shows.

    24 seasons 1-3 I watched in about 10 days

Lost Season 1 in a weekend

Desperate Housewives season 1 in about a week

These all I watched during the months I was student teaching as well. Along with the sedentary type of work teaching can be plus all of this tv I'm sure I gained at least 10 pounds during those four months.

House Seasons 1-3 in about 10 days

Prison Break season 1 in about five days

Alias The complete series in about 3 weeks

    And my all time favorites

Friends Seasons 1-7 in about two weeks

and Scrubs seasons 1-3 in about two weeks

I plowed through the first two seasons of The office in a weekend as well.
