After watching the Giants offense run up and down the field on Green Bay, there is no way in hell they were going to give the Patriots a game. The only way to beat the Patriots is to put Brady on his back. At least the Giants have a chance of doing it, Green Bay would have sucked out loud. Like I said, without Favre's 90 yd TD pass in the 2nd, no one would even bother talking about GB anymore and it wouldn't have been even near a close game. Just Favre's stats alone show that, alas, his time seems to be over. 19 for 35 passes (54 %) for a total of 236 yds, 90 of those resulting from a 15 yard throw resulting in a 90 yd TD run because the assigned DB slipped, 2 TDs and 2 INTs, that's miles away from being up to par. His completion ratio in this game is even lower than his worst season result in his history with the Packers (56 % in 2006) and more than 10 points below his 2007 season average. A team only relying on lucky long shots wouldn't stand a chance against the Brady Bunch and would've meant another boring Super Bowl that probably would've been said and done by halftime. I'm really looking forward to see what the Giants are going to be able to do to NE, their defence looked solid enough to put a few stops to NEs offence in a couple of weeks, and their play calling was a lot better than GBs. And, btw, the antics of Allan Harris towards Plaxico Burress were simply disgusting and deservedly he was made to look like a rookie several times. Throw in the number of penalties and grave mistakes GB acquired even in critical situations (but NY wasn't far behind in that department, being stripped off an interception within a matter of three seconds after the catch because you're too clumsy to put both your hands on the ball really doesn't look too well) and you had a team on there that had all the chances but just couldn't pull it off due to bad play calling, individual mistakes and a QB that simply had a bad day at the worst time in this season. | | | Lutz | | | Last edited: by Darxon |

If their record had not have been so good and how thewy went about it the NFL would not have made it a big deal. I know cheating has been going on forever but I don't ever recall a coach being fined such a huge amount. And don't get me started on officiating! Besides the Pats are in the Bills division and I have to have some reason to root against them! I suppose one reason to actually root for them would be that they would match the hated Miami Dolphin undefeated season. Plus I'm kind of rooting for Junior Seau to get his Super Bowl ring. Of course I wouldn't mind Michael Strahan getting a championship. But then... |
