| Posted: | | | | I think you guys are going too far with real names. There is a distinct difference between a stage name and a character name.
Trish Stratus is a stage name, like John Wayne. She used that name as a model before her WWE time, and continues to use it to this name. It's not a name owned by the WWE, nor is it really a character.
The Undertaker is a character. If Mark Calaway were to leave the WWE, he's most likely have to cease being professionally called that.
How far do you go with this? Mr. T performed at Mania 1 & 2, do you use his real name Laurence Tureaud? What about Butterbean at Mania XV? I think the whole point of using real names is to make sure that a guy like say Glen Jacobs has all of his roles attributed to him (i.e. Kane, Issac Yankem, Fake Diesel)
I've uploaded profiles for the entire WrestleMania and Royal Rumble anthologies. As a side effect, my cast lists for the WrestleManias were included. Feel free to overwrite them, delete them, whatever. I didn't upload them to get into a debate, but with new profiles its an all or nothing thing. I haven't had time to do cast lists for the Rumbles, so there's no issue there.
I also uploaded profiles for the Hulk Hogan Anthology (Wal*Mart Version with Bonus Disc), the original D-Generation X DVD, the Jake Roberts DVD, and the Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior, plus the separate releases of 20, 21, and 22. They all have cast lists too.
Like I said, I didn't do this to try and pass off my way of doing things, and if anyone overwrites them I don't care either way. I did it mainly to get the other parts of the profile in the DB. |

| Posted: | | | | The Trish Stratus example is a good point. Maybe she should be in under her stage name - that'd be akin to using an actor's real name, instead of the name they're most known by, which is something that won't be happening with the non-wrestling portion of the database.
However, where do you draw the line? | | | "I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question: Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?

| Posted: | | | | Maybe we should say that if they've used their wrestling name in projects outside of wrestling, then we use it as well for their main credit? | | | "I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question: Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?

| Posted: | | | | Kimberly's also credited in The 40 Year Old Virgin, if I remember right. For Hogan, should we just use Hulk Hogan, and if anyone actually owns his movies from the 80s ( ) they can just use "Credited As" for the Terry 'Hulk' Hogan credit? I mean, he is certainly known as Hulk. The only exception on the list I'd make is for Kane - in order to tie all of his gimmicks together, I think he should be in as Glen Jacobs. Also, how about Chavo/Chavo Classic? | | | "I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question: Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?

| Posted: | | | | lol I got 1 80;s flick with Hogan in it, Rocky III, but I believe he is credited as just Hulk Hogan in it, so no problem there.
as for Chavo/Chavo Classic
there real names are Salvador Guerrero Jr and Salvador Guerrero III
but I would out them as Chavo Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero, Sr. | | | DVD Profiler user since October 1, 2004 |

| Posted: | | | | Alright, cool. I'll go ahead and make the changes to all the profiles we've done thus far. Just put profiles in here as you do them. I'll serve as "Editor" for the project unless anyone objects. | Posted: | | | | The more I think about this, I think we should use real names for guys with "one name" (Edge, Kane, Triple H, etc) as well. Do we really want to see, for instance, on an older DVD release, "Triple H as Hunter Hearst Helmsley"? From what I've seen, those would be the exceptions I would make. I'm not sure how to handle DDP at the moment - should he be in as "Diamond" Dallas Page for his main name? Or just Dallas Page? Also, I'm not sure we should count "Ready 2 Rumble" as one of those "other projects" - it was a wrestling movie, and as such, the wrestlers were credited with their WCW names. Jericho would be one to add to your list as well, since he was known as Chris Jericho on that music reality show, as well as his VH1 appearances. I'll work on making a list we can constantly update - if anyone disagrees with anything I've said, please let me know. I'm not perfect of course. | | | "I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question: Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?
