Oleops:

A search will reveal on CD in All Forums/Any Date will give 681 hits in just the LAST 12 months since we moved from Intervocative.  If I recall correctly before IVS shut down that site had another 2000-3000 hits on the SAME topic. So...like I said the truth is out there...all you have to do is look for it.

Try Search, the truth is out there.  All you need to use is Search All Forums with two letters CD.

Serious Question: Why can't you leave the answer to others here in the forum, if you don't want to help the questioneer... :-(

Regards, AA

This question has been asked probably more than 1000 times.  The answer always has and likely always will be "NO."  About once a month someone without doing a search asks this question.  Normally they are lambasted and told to try the the search function because it is their friend.  Skip was actually tame for once in his life.  Normally the question would have received a 5 paragraph answer that would have included words like stupid, ignorant and incompetent.  The answer was given please try the search function.  Just my two cents...

Well, please take a search...

For fun I did a search myself for CD Profiler and CD --> results Nothing, nada, zero
When being a newbee some time ago I also asked dumb questions, also stating that I did a search - ignored and snapped at... Do as AiAustria tells, answer or stay out of it... its very simple and no need for calories burned.

Slowly!

Sith and I understood each other. While I tried to leave out sarcasm - I reedited the post three or four times before submitting, but didn't succeed though, since I got a negative vote on the post - Sith readded the sarcasm which - at least for us - is immanent to this issue...

Concerning the searching on this forums: you can only search effectively for single words. If you want to use booleans or other features, or if you wand have a usefull ordering, you should try to search at google with the connective site:invelos.com...

invelos mediadogg would already be enough:

Well, you might want to retry your search using the following criteria "Search for: CD, Search In: Entire Message, Search Forum: General --> General discussion, Search by Date: Any date." In the results look at the first page 4th from the bottom.  CD-Profiler?  Posted Oct 19, 2007.  I tell you this, because the answer is there.  Call me wrong if you must, but please do a little bit better research first.  Just because it wasn't one of the first three answers doesn't mean it isn't there.

Can there be that the search engine does not work properly sometime... ?

At the time I did my search there was NO topics found in the entire base, it happens! So my comment still stands.

Interesting that you say that, because I often feel that I am having the same problem. I mean, I'm a pretty savvy PC guy, but sometimes it seems I just can't get any result from the search. I didn't say anything because I thought maybe it was something that I was doing ... Anybody else have the same experience? (BTW I often wind up logged in on different machines throughout the day - I wonder if that could be an issue).

Edit: Based on the ensuing posts, looks like a latent Tech Support issue has been uncovered. If hasn't been reported yet, maybe somebody can do it ... And if it hadn't been for the first post, we wouldn't have learned so much in a short time - big UP+ for that too!

As far as I've seen, there are more problems with this search engine:
a) some words seem to be ignored, when combined with longer ones (eg. CD or DVD)
b) there is an issue with capitalization - but I'm not able to specify in detail...
c) when starting a new search, the scope is set back to "30 days"...
d) if multiple words are entered, each word is searched using an OR operation. But the results aren't sorted in any way concerning these key words...

I've stopped using it at all, after realizing, that Google does the better job...

I actually prefer to use Google to search the forums

In the Google search box:

Quote:
[search term(s)] site:invelos.com

If you want date specific, choose Advanced Search and pick from the drop down list of date ranges.

A search of the forums for cdprofiler returned 4 hits

A search for cd+profiler returned 467 hits

I'm sure I've experienced this as well. I think what is happening is, if the results of a search take too long to come through, then the screen reports no results rather than a timed out report.

I thought we were overdue for the quarterly re-asking.

I made that mistake once when I first enlisted here.
