| Posted: | | | | My percentage is probably around 60-70 I'd need to figure it out. Some of mine that don't have a watched history I have watched just wasn't using the watched by feature at that point. I was going to try and watch all my dvds this year, and was doing pretty good. I gave myself the only one clause. Any movies I bought this year weren't included. I only needed to watch ones I had at the start of the year. If i could get to those it would be bonus Well, my early year buying was pretty heavy so I got all these dvds i "couldn't" watch (because I was focusing on the ones I already had) Some being ones I really wanted for a while and woud love to watch. But then I had to pack up all my dvds when I put my house on the market, which made getting them harder. I now have most of them packed away inaccessible and only have a few (one box, probably around 100 dvds, all ones I haven't watched, some from this year though) I don't think I'll succeed in my goal though because I went from averaging about 1.3 dvds a day for about the first 2-2.5 months to not having time to watch any. Maybe I'll try to make another run at it, but probably need at least 2 a day at this point. -Agrare |

Quote: Fair question, but I always look at it like if I don't want to watch the movie again, then why buy the dvd? I know sometimes extras, exclusives and good sale prices make me buy things I wouldn't otherwise, but I'm trying hard to not let that factor into my decisions. It is getting better between that and lack of shelf space. Well, yeah, I can agree with that. Even if I don't always follow it. Either way, what you said doesn't answer my question regarding what TommyG asked.
KM hadn't really thought about that Personally, I only counted the movies that I had watched once I purchased them on DVD, but i only have around 30-40 that I saw before I purchased them on DVD and haven't yet watched hmm .. just counted and it's about 150 that i've seen before I bought them but not yet ... but that would get me to almost exactly 50% seen ... only 560 to go | | | Last edited: by TommyG |

KM I really didn't answer did I? Sorry about that. I know that this could be argued so I'll just give my P.O.V. I'd say watching the dvd is a different experience than seeing the movie in the theater (or on cable years ago, at a friend's, etc.), so "watched" would refer to the dvd, esp. in the profiler program which is about the dvd a bit more than the movie. Plus about half the dvds are different cuts than what shows in theaters or cable. It all comes down to personal preference as to how you chart the viewings, and how you use the program to track that. Since it's DVDprofiler, I go with just dvds. With dvds that I've only watched extras on (Evil Dead UE) because I've seen the movie so much or have an older version of, I'll still count that as a watch on my local. To track all the films I see is a seperate thing. |

| Posted: | | | | Well the poll says Movies, and I'm assuming that actually means on the DVD you've bought, so that's how I've answered in the poll (51%) but, from my figures (which are probably mostly right!):
Movies watched on DVD: 51% Movies watched at all: 78% (ie. 22% / 149 DVDs are, blind buys and I've not yet seen them)
TV/other watched on DVD: 66% TV/other watched at all: 56% (ie. 44% / 210 DVD sets, are blind buys and I've never seen them)
Total DVDs watched on DVD: 72% Total DVDs watched at all: 53% | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong | | | Last edited: by Voltaire53 |
