| | Posted: | | | | Someone need to make a DJ Box shelf system. This is what I was thinking a heavy duty unit on wheels with four shelves. Now each shelf would slide out and lock allowing you to get to your DVD's or CD's. When done just slide shelf back in.
This would be base on the dj boxes that hold 1000 disc. They could be made stockable by bolting units on top of each other instead of using wheels. 2 units would be about all one would want to stack I am guessing. | | | | Last edited: by Randall_Lind |

It's going to be rosewood with cherry blossom carvings up the sides. 8 shelves per side counting the bottom with each shelf 20 inches long and 6 inches deep. Total approximate dimensions are 28x28x74. Capacity will be 1100 standard size Amaray cases. Not bad for 5.5 square feet of floorspace. Cost came to $900 delivered, but its going to take 4 months If I am pleased with it (and im not sure how I won't be), I will probably have him make another identical one and put them on each side of the TV. The one shown here is smaller, with a capacity around 750 and made of particle board (i have sworn off this particular material).  | | | | Last edited: by kovacs01 |

| | Posted: | | | | Well, I'd send you to the guy that is making mine, but I live in Japan. I am sure you could take the specs to any custom furniture maker, but it's going to cost more than here. Furniture is cheap here  The one in the picture can be found at any number of sites selling DVD storage and comes shipped for around $300 |

Same one here for $280 holds 550 dvd's but looks like a great way to save space for a person living in an one bedroom apartment like myself. It may not be built as good but looks like it is built to last. |

It made it one move and then pretty much fell apart attempting a second. Those spinning racks are around $300 and since I am in a climate that is extremely humid, particle board will only last 3 years before it begins to liquify and go all to hell. So 3 years down the road I'd be spending another $300. Thats why I went the custom route. Higher capacity, better build quality, the color I want, and something that can truly be called furniture since the DVD's arent going anywhere anytime soon. And since it is actually furniture, that means the wife is ok with it going in the living room  . I felt like all of these reasons outweighed the cost |

i've had a few shelves go to hell...and it sucks...particle board everywhere  its worth paying more for something that will last forever if taken care of. |

A Sony 400 DVD player with outstanding upscaling and HDMI costs only a bit over $300, and the DVDs are covered, untouched by human hands in a compact enclosure. To put icing on the cake, the location and slot information can be used to actually play the DVD from a mouse click in DVD Profiler. No, I don't work for Sony!
