I don't know how old 19.5 years would be in "cat" years, but it sounds like a long time.  I'm sure she had a good life and is now in a better place, like Rainbow Bridge that Rick mentioned.  My sympathy goes out to you.

Sorry to hear about the loss.

19.5 years is a very long time for a cat... (if dog years are anything to go by it's something like 130 human years...). I am sure you gave her a great home and served her well.

My sympathy as well. 19.5 years is a long time. I'm sure you had quite a bond.

I believe I got the link below from someone on this site. I had never read it before but it touched me as I'm sure it will anyone who truly cares for their pets.

Rainbow Bridge

Thanks for this! I needed it.

My thanks to each and every one of you. It is much appreciated.

To those of you who still miss a loved one, my thoughts are with you too. I share the grief and while I know it never goes away, I hope it eases with time as I am hoping mine will. There is a hole in my heart, and life, where she resides that can never be completely closed. This hole is next to the one where Merry-Li, who died around 5 years ago now, resides.

My sympathy, As I write my 18 years old tabby Tigger is near his end.
It is never easy when we lose a part of our family, and our hearts.

I feel very sorry for you, Caroline! I lost him last year due to cancer:

I still miss him

My oldest is now 14 years old. I hope he'll make a few miles more:

The both from my avatar are 1 and 2 years old!

Cheer up, Caroline!

That's really sad.  We had to take 2 cats in this year.  One for cancer and one for diabetes.  So I know what you're going through.

I've been there. With a cat we had back in the 90s, we waited a little too long in going to the vet and the suffering was terrible. I hope your loved one did not go through much pain.

Rick's "Rainbow Bridge" had me tearing up but good.

No lol cats for this thread please.
