| Posted: | | | | I tend to think some here are more intent on defending there candidate ergo the non-tolerance & strident opinions. Do some of you have the same views (depicting brutality etc) as seen on perhaps 'Monty Python' etc.??? If your being honest, then you should have as much contempt for MP as you do the vid's in this thread.

You are actually asking me to be "open-minded" to this sort of brutality rather than you accepting what you condone by circulating these videos. what do you think of people that have 'A Clockwork Orange' as one of the films they own? Do you think that this condones brutality and rape when they own these films? ps - I own Clockwork Orange and I don't. | | | Paul | | | Last edited: by pauls42 |

Get out of US [politics, it is NOT your place not your business.
Skip US politics should be everyone's business. The effect that US economics and foreign policy has on the entire world has never been more evident than in the last 8 years. Besides, the videos are from a viral Reebok advertising campaign. These last 3 have been commissioned to actively promote voting which can only be a good thing, regardless of your party politics. P.S. Terry Tate is hilarious. |

I meant you should be more tolerable to what other people may think is funny and that it doesn't have to indicate they approve of the behavior that is shown. | | | Martin Zuidervliet

And we need to be more fair to her and give her the opportunity to fairly express her views and knowledge so that everyone can know her. | Posted: | | | | The reality is that these videos depict a 340lb linebacker in full gear knocking a 100 lb woman 20 feet and rendering her unconscious. Several of you find that to be "funny" (haha). You post those videos in this forum and not only expect everyone else to see them as "funny"(haha) you demand that we be tolerant of your humor when we don't. If that isn't condoning the brutality in the videos, nothing is.
The fact that you find depiction of brutality on a woman to be "funny" ("hilarious" by one of you) is telling in itself. To defend it and demand that I, or anyone else, be tolerant is simply staggering! | | | Dan | | | Last edited: by Dan W |

| Posted: | | | | Are the two videos that Martin showed brutal?
Oh yes, they are. They show brutally open how incapable Sarah Palin is.
The rest... matter of taste IMHO
Edit: And you might agree with this or not, but I feel it does not deserve a red arrow....
Thanks to whoever it was. | | | Last edited: by sugarjoe |

Rick Your "tendencies" of belief are incorrect in my case. I happen to have been physically abused as a small child and I have seen this sort of thing first hand. This sort of brutality is a great many things but laughable is not on my list. The fact that you find it the least bit amusing is despicable. | | | Dan |

| Posted: | | | | Dan - Being, been "physically abused as a small child" explains allot about your behavior here, I'm sorry that occurred in your life. I also strongly resent your comment, Quote: The fact that you find it to be humorous makes me wonder if this is how you treat the women in your life. This really contempable, & beneath you Dan! A small amount of humor you extrapolate to concern how I treat woman! Shame on you! You also coyly post your concern publicly as to plant a seed/belief in the community, about me. Rick So, when all else fails, fall back on condescension, eh? You"re falling further. Resent what you like. You have defended these videos and the depictions in them. When you face that reality, it is you who will feel shame. | | | Dan | | | Last edited: by Dan W |

| Posted: | | | | It's interesting to look at the DVD collections of those who do and do not find the videos funny... There are far more offensive bits of humor to be found in some of the films of those who decry these videos. Airplane! for example. (I'm lazy, so I stopped at the A's, but I'm guessing the B-Z's had some winners too)
Personally, I don't find the videos all that funny. They're a one joke show that relies on shock value.
A quick Wikipedia search shows that the "Terry Tate" gag has been going on for a while. A football player who tries to solve everything with the only tool in his box... football moves. It's like the old SNL "Samurai <X>" sketches without John Belushi.
And those got old quick too.
Humor by it's nature presents situations that can and SHOULD make us uncomfortable. Humor is at it's most effective IMO when it walks the line where you need to laugh before you cry. |
