| Posted: | | | | At the bottom of the Buy It Now box:
Ships to U.S. Destinations Only
I'm guessing they have to be careful as they may not have the rights to distribute all titles internationally. |

| Posted: | | | | Also from the HTF chat: Quote: 1). There will be a availability of product WORLDWIDE shortly through the Warner Archive Collection. SHORTLY. We just don't have a date yet...it could be only a few days away.... bear with us...This would be only applicable to the films where we hold worldwide rights, which is MOST of them. I assume the "ships to US only" is only temporary, though WB does not seem to know when they will begin shipping internationally. As Northbloke pointed out, they likely have to check all the titles with their legal department to make sure they have the worldwide rights. | | | Last edited: by Mixmaster_Mal |

Yeah, I burnt my DVR copy to disk a while ago, but it's pan and scan. It would be nice to have a widescreen anamorphic copy. The only problem is that when I last watched it, I was reminded of just how awful a movie it was. I'll probably still end up getting it. Damn my guilty pleasures! |

| Posted: | | | | I really don't to start picking apart WB's choices because i think the concept is terrific but i just have to note that i can't see a reference to the film Purple Hearts without thinking of the start of Roger Ebert's review: "...where the whole world was a stage, and millions of people were fighting and dying so that these two goofballs could swap spit?" - ReviewHere's hoping more studios do the same as WB with their catalogs. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

Apparently they also somehow can't even be played on a PC drive for copy protection reasons. They are DVD-R's, and they may not play on PC drives...most of these issues and questions are addressed in the FAQ at the Warner Archive website. Not sure why people are surprised, unless they're just buying willy-nilly without investigating the details first. From the FAQ: Quote: Q: What makes an on-demand DVD different than a Commercial DVD?
A: DVD’s produced on-demand are similar to, but not quite same as, DVD’s you’d buy at the local video store. DVD movies you buy at the local video outlet are manufactured from a mold via a stamping process whereas on-demand DVDs are "burned". Each carries information read by the DVD player, but the physical properties of the two are different.
Most DVD players are compatible with both commercial DVD-Video and one or more of the “recordable DVD formats. Our on-demand DVD’s are manufactured using the most widely accepted format, DVD-R. The owner's manual of the DVD player usually lists which DVD recording formats it can play. Almost all DVD players can play DVD-R (except for some older models made before 2000)
Q: My DVD won’t play on my computer.
A: As noted on the DVD case wrap, DVD’s encrypted with CSS may not play on all computers or DVD player/recorders. This is normal. To address this, we recommend viewing the DVD on a DVD player that does not have recording capability.

| Posted: | | | | I've got to say, I'm getting less and less enthusiastic about these the more reviews I read. The biggest concerns I've read are interlaced transfers and some very amateurish encoding. All kinds of digitally induced artifacts. That's all well and good for a public domain company, but for 20 bucks each, on a DVD-R no less, I think I'll keep my money. | | | Last edited: by mdnitoil |
