Hmm, my comments on Wolverine, responding to the fan criticisms:

I accept that a lot of the fan criticisms are valid but I can also see why the film decided to take the route it did (even if I side with the fans in personal preference in some cases).

Basically, yes, I'd have liked it more violent (but the company obviously wanted it to be a 12 to make more money), I'd like to have seen Wolverine being a darker character as per the comics where he wanted to forget the unpleasant things in his pre-Weapon X past (but, again, I can see where the makers would be worried about making this pre-loss-of-memory Wolverine - the hero of the film - an unlikable/unsympathetic character for the more casual viewer) and yes, some of the characters seem to have been thrown in and given little to do (but then if they hadn't been put in I'm sure the fans would have complained about them being missing...).

I can certainly see where I'd have gone for more of a comprimise; say accepting a 15 and having at least some blood on claws, haiving Wolverine do some worse things in his beserker-persona then regretting them, rather than controlling himself, and maybe making the film a bit longer (it's only 1:40 or so) and fleshing out a few of the support characters... but I have to accept it for what it is.

So overall an enjoyable blockbuster (my wife liked it too so maybe the non-hardcore audience targetting was successful!) with pretty good work by the leads (Wolverine, Sabretooth and Stryker), which did successfully take in the major points of the characters backstory from the comics (albeit re-organised and fiddled with a bit) but quite flawed for some fans.

I make a habbit of not visiting those types of sites, until after I have seen the film, for that very reason.  We begged for a spoiler tag here because, this being a DVD site, lots of our members wait until the film is available on DVD to watch it.

You are right. it would make since with this being a dvd site that most wait till the movie comes out on dvd!   i am still pretty bumed that i didn't stay after the end credits though. I would hope that the dvd release will have the same footage?

My wife also enjoyed it too! my brother and his wife are in their mid 20's and me and my wife are mid to late 30's so maybe that's why we liked it and they didn't! I guess you can't make everyone happy!

From what I have heard, there are...at least...2 different after credit endings.  I hope they include both in the DVD release, thought it wouldn't suprise me if they had a different release for each one.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

i can see that happening, i hope not. i'm guessing that the dvd will probably come out around christmas but it seems like dvd releases are coming out sooner rather than later, maybe october then?
