True enough, but it is still a vertical cut.  A verticle cut will always result in a left and a right.  By the same token, a horizontal cut will alwasy result in a top and bottom.

In autocad if i split the window vertically, you get a left and right. If you tile 2 windows vertically you also get a left and right. That seems the logical way for me.
