Randall:

I don't hold any flame towards you or anyone else, Ok. You seem like a nice sort. But bad is bad, the people that create that artwork don't own it nor do they have any right to create it and share it, let alone sell it. The BEST I will give them is that they can create the artwork for their own personal use, but once they share it or sell it with ANYONE else they have crossed the line. None of the money that you spent on that site goes to the people who own the product. Ifind it amusing that the site specifically says that you must give credit to the person who created the artwork, as if they owned it and they own nothing, they don't have th rights.

In my view, Randall, when a user begins discusing this kind of issue they endanger the future of Invelos and every other user in the community. I am not worried personally, anyone is welcome to inspect what I own anytime they want, EVERYTHING I own and everything I do is completely legal and legit. But do I want the headache that goes along with it...NO I don't and i don't want to see my friends Ken and Gerri jeopardized, nor the future of the program, nor anyone in the Community...including you.

You aren't being attacked. I would hope that you are being educated. I mean, Randall, you are discussing a website that has Disc and Cover Art for Star Trek, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Ice Age 3, and Public Enemies, and those are the only the ones I looked up. These titles are still in theaters and have not even been announced for DVD or BD ...YET. Soon in most cases but not yet. Wrong is wrong, my friend. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse.

The website will ultimately have to come down, I won't predict a timeline, though I have a pretty good idea. I would encourage you not to download anything further from them nor any site like them.

You are the one talking about the damn website. I was just asking about the Blu-ray banner. You made this simple question about a banner into the website.

I use Hirescovers.net to replace DVD, Blu-ray images in DVD Profiler. I replace the cover for Training Day the cover doesn't say Blu-ray on it. However DVD Profiler slap a big Blu-ray logo banner at the top of it. Is this a new feature?

Randall:

You mentioned th site. You even mentioned a title, and it happens that the titl at the site only contains CUSTOM Cover Art AND Disc Art, they have no copy of the ACTUAL Cover Art. That's a problem, one of the custom covers even makes use of a Warner UPC #, note that it is NOT the UPC# which the film was released under. You are free to do whatever you want locally and you will pay the repurcussions if any. But you brought it here, I don't wish you ill and hope that nothing comes of it for you.

But, my god man, you've been around for two years, the banner has been around almost as long, along with the method to disable it, and you are a relative regular. Worse yet you keep trying to defend yourself, it is well known that I take a dim view of any form of piracy or copyright violation. I have been giving you the benefit of the doubt, that were just making a very serious error without understanding the issue, you have me wondering now.

We even went through a brief period before Ken added the banner that Doc had created banners for both HD and BD that we could import and paste on our covers with an editing program.

Why do I own a scanner, so that I can create images which will not violate copyright, trust me if we were to be advised by Ken that he had been advised that we were violating copyright then i would stop scanning so fast it would make your head spin.

I have seen the Custom Covers before some of them are outstanding and I like them a lot...but not enough to violate the law and I don't even want to talk about them or see them talked about.

You apparently don't like being told that what you are doing is not a good thing, that's too bad, but i will not apologize for it. You brought it up not I, with your very first post.

In it, you mention the 'damn' website.  In fact, it is the first thing you mentioned.  Had you left that out then, yes, it would have been a simple question with a simple answer.  It may not have been your intent, but you started this ball rolling.

Edit: I see Skip, even with his longer post, beat me to it.  I didn't think my fingers were that slow.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.
