| Posted: | | | | Sorry to see you go. However, your post explaining why you do so is IMO way out of line. Again - sorry to see you go, but your post makes me respect your decision to do so less.. | | | Berak

| Posted: | | | | Matthias,
I will also be very sorry to see you go, I've used your plugin's and found then immensely useful. I for one really appreciate all the time and effort you have put into these. I hope at some time perhaps sooner rather than later you can reconsider your choice

Frankly, it escapes me why a single user is allowed to continuously poison the atmosphere in these forums. Free speech is one thing, but that is more like letting a drunkard running around in a pub and permanently harassing the guests. I don't need that. If the owner is unwilling to take care of it, I go to another pub. It is as simple as that.
My website goodguy's DVD Profiler Tools will remain active for a few weeks and I will provide means for existing customers of Profile Comparison Plus to get an updated version of the plugin once DVD Profiler 3.6 goes final.
Bye. I feel very sad seeing another dedicated user leaving. Not only your plug-ins are an enrichment for the whole community, you also were always helpful in beta-testing and helping others with your great knowledge about programming and html-windows. I always experienced you as a friendly and patient user and I know that most people will miss you. I hope you will not leave forever, but I can fully understand your reasons and wish you only the best for the coming time. And I hope that this thread (by far not the only one of this kind... ) helps people get out of their lazyness and provides them another big motivation for actively participating in "healing" the atmosphere in this forum: Active posting, post rating and e-mails to the forum moderator and Ken personally. | | | Last edited: by SpaceFreakMicha |

| Posted: | | | | I haven't bothered contributing to the database or forum for several years now because of pretty much the same reasons as Matthias. I used to be pretty active on these boards, but I got so tired of the same arguments. And the thing that really makes me laugh is that occasionally I drop back in and you haven't got anywhere! Years -and I do mean years- later, the same points are being hammered into submission. The database is no better or worse for average users and the software hasn't been developed significantly. What are you all trying to achieve? I'd be curious to see some figures of how the number of users has grown since the last version, but more importantly, how many of those users give enough of a crap to join in this circus. Very few, I bet. Just the same old clowns throwing custard at one another... Skip, your general attitude is combative and I'd wish you'd rein it in, but I know you're passionate about it at least. Have your points really changed that much over the years though? | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

My point is that the ratio between how much time is spent talking about the same rubbish and how much gets translated into making the software more effective is very low. We have the same sort of users we did 10 years ago because the submission process is still a bear-trap for any unsuspecting newbie. | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

| Posted: | | | | I don't see the point of starting these kind of threads. If you have a problem with a certain user, take it up with him/her, or contact Ken if you think the forum needs better moderation. Otherwise you're just throwing fuel at the fire. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

I suggest that you do a search on Goodguys posts and discover just how many time he has attacked me, in fact I would call it stalked me, to insert a nasty and attacking comment. Do you expect me to NOT defend myself, sorry guy, I will defend myself when I am assaulted. Just last week Goodguy launched an attack on me to which Iresponded and five minutes later in another thread he made a comment that I was able to positively remark on.(I don't hold grudges) But I'll not be pushed around by ANYONE, I am used to dealing intimately wit the denizens of Washington DC they are a lot tougher than anybody here and i don't take it from them either.

| Posted: | | | | IMHO especially on contribution forum issues ... 1) I think Ken should step in and make a ruling on the subject. 2) Then lock the string down, preferably before it goes over a couple of pages. By then most should be able to state their opinion on the subject. Usually after a few pages the string has developed into a pissing contest with the only result, bruised egos. 3) Before you submit either opening statement or your reply compose it off forum and make sure you have all you want to say on the matter it. Then let it go at that. By now you all should know your not going to change any body's mind. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. Ineptocracy, You got to love it.
