Hey there,

just saw this threat, so far I never used the galleries feature, but it seems nice.

What I would also like to try out is your layout, is that available to download ?

Might be I like this better than the Widescreen layout I am using right now.

cheers
Donnie

It's a really nice offer...but I personally use my Gallery feature to display the posters for the film (I really like to see differing posters from around the world).

Have you checked http://dvdpgallery.dvdalistic.com/ for movie posters? I sent a lot of posters to that site.

The reason why no one has joined the group might be because it is in French.

If American or English users know a site in english where I could easily share those photos, I can consider it.

It's possible to set up the same type of groups on the international Yahoo site. (without the fr. suffix).
It's not hard to enter the French language group, but I guess a lot of users don't feel comfortable using one that they don't understand.

In regards to the screenshots, good job. I've downloaded the ones that I have and it looks interesting. Just got to tweak my layout to include the gallery.

One point though. I noticed that there are a few titles with the French name. I don't know if they are French movies, but if they are English language movies, it would be easier for the international users if the title used were the original title. It's understandable however if you use what you have in your local databse

I use original title for all movies. Those in French are French movies. But I have not changed the names of the photos, based on French titles (too long to change all the names).

I hadn't thought of this.  I like movie posters as well.  Any chance you could post your layout, in a new thread of course, so I could see how you are using it?  Now that I think of it, we had a thread for desktops, maybe a thread for layouts.  It could give people different ideas.

As to the original post, sorry for straying from it, it is a very kind offer you are making but, like others, it isn't a feature I have ever thought of using.

There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.

And it makes perfect sense
Thanks. It looks good and I would be interested in something like this.

Thanks for the offer.  I don't use galleries myself, but since you've made it so easy to experiment with it, I may just give it a shot to see what I've been missing.

I like the idea of sharing the gallery pics, but in my opinion we should find a better way to share. Perhaps something without a registration and not in French.    (even if i learned some French long ago  )

I tried to check out the photos, but I could figure out how to sign-in.  And I couldn't check out the photos without signing in.  So great effort.  It's appreciated.  But I can't really do much with it.

You could use http://picasaweb.google.com/home.

You can create a fully public webgallery, an unlisted gallery (users need the exact url), or a sign-in gallery (users need a Google account to login). By default you get 1GB storage for free.

Thanks, surfeur51, that's awesome!

And by the way, a great reason to brush up my French a little bit... or a little bit more

I suggest you get a US (in my case it was a UK) yahoo id and then when you go to the French site it prefills everything for you.

And my French is VERY bad - but I managed to get in ok, this way.

I already have a Yahoo account.  Maybe I just need to log in before hitting the site.

Just tried, didn't help.
