Yes, I understand there is that audience out there. But, do you have trash a good franchise like Spiderman to do it? | | | Just in from somewhere left of the middle of nowhere The Holy See Hell | | | Last edited: by Floorwalker |

| Posted: | | | | Amazing Spider-Man issues 1-28 all take place in high school (28 is his graduation), so there's plenty there to choose from that hasn't already been used for villains:
The Chameleon The Vulture Dr. Doom The Lizard Various robots Electro The Enforcers Mysterio The Hulk if you want a crossover Kraven the Hunter Ringmaster and his Circus of Crime The Scorpion The Beetle Crime-Master Molten Man
and of course, they could bring in villains that came later in the comics. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

| Posted: | | | | I stand corrected, then.
It seems my childhood memories aren't quite as good as I hoped them to be (must have something to do with the usual parental nag of "don't read this pulp"...)
So yeah, the storyline actually does provide enough to choose from, and thinking about the Smallville TV series, going back does not necessarily have to lead to doom...
We'll see what they make of it, it just might work - I dunno atm | | | Lutz |

| Posted: | | | | There may be comics that support his Spidey-Action in High School but I'm pretty sure that the first film made it pretty clear that Green Goblin was the first big coming out party for our web friend. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | You guys disappoint me. None of you caught my misspelling of Gwen. For those of you who don't know, she was Spidey's first "love", not Mary Jane. They met just after Peter Parker entered College (same issue #31) and she was killed by the Green Goblin in #121, 9 years into the franchise.
Karsten, The original story begins with Peter Parker as a high school student who is bitten by a radioactive spider. Unless you were a reader at the time or a collector, it is easy to miss the high school stories because Stan Lee and Steve Ditko moved him into college the third year the comics were in print, December 1965. As to the Green Goblin being Spidey's "coming out party", there were other more powerful villains before him. The Green Goblin was more popular, largely due to the fact that Osborn was the father of Peters new college friend Harry. Many forget this but Spidey began his run as more of a villain than a hero. The Fantastic Four had to put-him-in-his-place, as it were. | | | Dan | | | Last edited: by Dan W |

MJ has become the Poster Spidey girlfriend and is who most recognize but most don't realize his history with the ladies. He also dated Betty Brant and Felicia Hardy for a while. The former def being before MJ. Quoting DJ Doena: Quote: Quoting Dan W:

I was just referring to the established continuity of the Raimi films.. But since this is a reboot the continuity of the Raimi films don't matter. Plus I got the impression of some time passing, maybe not much, but considering some of the continuity rewrites in the actual comics they could easily fit a few adventures between his getting the powers and his meeting with the Goblin -Agrare |
