| Posted: | | | | The DVDs are certainly watchable; I enjoyed them on my 65" set and really didn't have a problem with the effects.
I watched it for the first time on DVD, having missed the series on the air. Great stuff, one of my favorites. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

| Posted: | | | | Having watched it originally in 4:3 as they aired, I was a little put off when I noticed that they cropped the image on the DVD to fit 16:9.
Turns out, while they were shot in SD for 4:3 format, they were keeping 16:9 in mind and framed the shots accordingly. However, the CGI shots were unfortunately not framed for 16:9. |

The thought was for the eventual DVD releases, they could just go back and re-render the shots. But by the time they got around to the DVDs, the files were missing. Still, they could have done a MUCH better job with them. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | They did have the models for the original series. In fact, they used those original models for the movies for the "quick render" low-rez mode while they fine tuned the animation before the final render with the newer high-resolution models. |

| Posted: | | | | When I find the time, I'll be watching this series for the first time also. I've never seen a single episode, but I now own the entire collection on DVD...thanks for all of the pointers. Now....when can I watch this? | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | You should start watching ASAP. The first season is a little slow. Especially since you're not aware of all the clues being dropped all over the place. But it's so worth it. I remains my all time favorite TV show for a reason. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | I watched a few of these when they first aired but never enough to get caught up on the story. Reading this thread has me interested.
Yikes! $300 for the movies and set of seasons 1-5 at Amazon. So, it's worth the cost? | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative | | | Last edited: by Ken Cole |

| Posted: | | | | It's a great show...$300 great? That I don't know. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Just get them from marketplace. You can get them new for a lot less. I can send you my old pilot DVD from before the movie set came out if you want, too. I figure you're earned it. |

cheers Donnie that would be Ron Moore's Battlestar Galactica then I would have agreed to this if they hadn't thought it more through and if they would have had an idea where they wanted to go with all this. But they didn't and thus the end felt a bit contrived. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
