It is always sad to see places you love disappear, but let us hope they will rebuild and maybe improve...

I hope (and I guess since you didn't say) that there was no injuries or worse

To you and your family and friends that loved this place - be well
Signature? We don't need no stinking... hang on, this has been done... blast [oooh now in Widescreen]
Ah... well you see.... I thought I'd say something more interesting... but cannot think of anything..... oh well

Yesterday, climbing a ladder, the owner of the business of the rink (not the owner of the building, nor the owner of the snackbar and pro shop), Chris Lord fell and put two breaks in one leg. He underwent surgery last night and is resting well. His wife passed out when she met him at the ER.

Only known injuries.

And by the way MM, I started this thread, within the general forum. This thread is about the destruction of a specific historic building, not about neato art deco monstrosities. One specific building, which opened November 4, 1940. Gone. One in which as the flames grew, the firefighters responding to the fire not only saved all the surrounding buildings and businesses, but deliberately attempted to save the towering sign of the business. I might offer this website to those who might be interested in this building and its history.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

I am aware, and that was my point.  FilmAlba made a post, in response to my "Thread hijacking aside" comment, accusing you of 'forum hijacking'.  You have him blocked so, out of respect for you, I did not quote his post.  My post was a reply to that.  You will note I wrote, "This is the 'General Forum' so there was no forum hijacking."

The mods have since change his post to read, "Forum Moderator: Removed. We'll be the judge of what's forum hijacking, thanks."

I hope that clears up this misunderstanding.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.
