You give 2 pounds to an African he don't spend it on food or medical aid but an f'ing Vuvuzela Try getting your facts straight. He forwarded a joke passed on to him on his twitter page. Big difference to making up the joke. |

| Posted: | | | | Reading some comments here just makes me sick, so what if it’s loud it is part of our soccer culture, live with it and as for the joke well that’s just in poor taste clearly the 'comedian' has never gone to bed hungry. Also please tell him not to worry about their medical aid, if you can’t afford medical cost, the state will pay – millions get it free.
Noisy Vuvuzela's with other soccer related items (caps, flags, side mirror flag covers) have at least put some money directly into the poor’s pockets so that they can afford a meal.
As for 'corrupt/poverty stricken' statement where do you get off, show me a country where there isn’t corruption or poor people. Those stadiums will be used after the world cup and not just for soccer – it’s already pulling in rugby crowds into the townships, generating jobs and doing a hell of a lot more for race relations that any political statement can ever do.
The upgrade to Airports, Roads and public transport, won’t go to waist either we desperately need it the world cup just forced the politician to work together.
So please before making blanket statement on this look at the bigger picture, all in all the world cup will do more good than harm.
PS! Thank you to all foreign visitors who didn’t listen to the nay sayers, hope you enjoy your stay… | | | Last edited: by mlr |

| Posted: | | | | Personally I hate the sound, and I would like to see them not used, but I don't think they should be banned. I think even louder more obnoxious instruments of sound will be used in the future, so be it, I would never attend a match because of the incessant noise, which is my choice. However, I feel sorry for fans who love watching the game in person so much that they force themselves to endure this. It is truly unfortunate. | | | Graham |

Also that Chris Evans joke, i dont get it? Whats the joke? It's not really that funny at all. Here in the UK, there are often charity adverts on TV asking for donations to be sent to various African countries to help with food, medicine, etc... The 'joke' was suggesting that instead of using it for that, they're just going to buy a Vuvuzela instead. So you really weren't missing anything! | | | Last edited: by Ardos |

So you really weren't missing anything! Ah, ok. I dont mind politically incorrect or racial jokes. Playing with stereotypes can be funny, but if it isnt, it just comes out as racist (to me). |

| Posted: | | | | But are those people, that for example the joke refers to, really the ones watching the games in the stadium? The poor people of South Africa are usually shown in the videos when Western TV explains what the vuvuzelas are, but I really doubt they are the ones using them in the stadiums. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan.
