| Posted: | | | | A lot of people including myself fell asleep during its premiere run back in April 1968 ,..
But with todays computers and high visual artwork the Industry could 'blow away' what we thought was incredible then. We were years ahead in technology etc., in those days,(till Star Wars) but what about todays films? .. I thought Peter Jacksons film of King Kong was magnificent, and even though I love the the old b/w film of Kong from 1933, todays technology set a new standard of film for that story.
I just feel that given the right team we could redo 2001 as it was so hokey from those first spoken words > (almost 40 minutes into the film) < until when Heywood Floyd left on the shuttle to the Moon . The kaleidoscope of colors at the end could really be something today ( 3D maybe? ) .. But the music and 'tempo' of the film shouldn't be altered and also should keep to the original script. Maybe a bit more answers about ' the room' or 'the Cage' that Bowman was kept in as he rapidly ( in our eyes) grew older and then into the Starchild....
Pretty heavy stuff for the day maybe we can progress that into todays idealisms.. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

He who MUST get the last word in on a pointless, endless argument doesn't win. It makes him the bigger jerk. |

| Posted: | | | | I would like to see a great remake of South Pacific. Glenn Close tried, but it really deserves an awesome re-do. Those damned color filters marred the original: | | | ...James
