Oh, and for question #50, (I see you didn't fill it in) the SRP is found on the first page that pops up of the DBQ in the left column. It's marked as "Total SRP."
Oddly enough, that slot doesn't say anything. Just "---" |

| Posted: | | | | I hadn't considered (since I either have or convert all of my SRP's to US dollars) that DBQ wouldn't show the SRP for movies if you were using multiple currencies.
Oh well.
bigdaddyhorse, did you load Cast & Crew data (the checkmark on the page that loads the information?) No answer needed, just a double-check. I've never seen that. | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.43) How many DVDs are in your collection? 2308 is my profiler number, although that is a little inflated because I tend to do manual profiles for more than one film on a single dvd and I also do manual profiles for short films attached to other films (like classic Warner films that have cartoon shorts on them)44) How many unwatched DVDs are in your collection? I stopped counting when I hit 100 and was only in the B's of my collection... , it's not entirely accurate though as I started with DVDProfiler long after I started buying and watching dvds45) How many double-dips do you have in your collection (2 copies is one double dip; 3 copies is 2)? 20-ish46) How many TV seasons (broken down, not complete series) do you own? Bob and Harvey Weinsten with 55 a piece (second is a sound crew guy, Kevin O'Connell with 53 profiles to his name)49) ... Most common year of production? 2005 (with 139)50) Using Database Query, what is the SRP of your collection? $30,984 (but I can guarantee this is way off... for some reason people find it incredibly friggin' difficult to enter proper SRPs for Canadian locality discs... I'd say probably at least 30-45% of my Canadian profiles either have the retail price listed instead of the SRP, a U.S. SRP listed instead of the proper Canadian one [and they are different] or a SRP of $0.00 ... I guess amazon.ca is harder to type than amazon.com??? One of my biggest pet peeves... not to mention... try adding a SRP five years after the dvd was originally released... the unnecessarily bitchy no votes and pm's you get are unreal...) | | | The night is calling. SRP of the collection can be done just by Charts and Graphs and adding up a few totals A few totals? I have 1200+ owned and don't feel like doing that much math. I need a program or add-on to do it for me. Unless I can do 2 charts of 600 or 3 of 400, and it adds those up so I just have to do the 2-3 totals. I get the "---" for value as well. |

Oh well.
This is my problem, gauranteed. I have stuff from almost every region and they are all left in their native currency. Maybe if I'm bored and nothing better to later, I'll convert all them so I can get a total. Or maybe I'll ignore them all and get a total of the domestic discs. |

A few totals? I have 1200+ owned and don't feel like doing that much math. I need a program or add-on to do it for me. Unless I can do 2 charts of 600 or 3 of 400, and it adds those up so I just have to do the 2-3 totals. I get the "---" for value as well. I have 3000+ and was able to do it... Go to the graphs chart, on the left menu select SRP -> Total and on that graph, to the right is the key listing the SRPs by year and you just add those up... | | | Last edited: by The Movieman |

| Posted: | | | | 1) Do you place your DVDs into cases with the label rotated straight? Yes. Perhaps this is sad. My mom doesn't put them in this way though.2) Do you keep the "toys" from special-release DVDs? Yes, those I have. Don't have a lot of these.3) Do you lend out your DVDs to family? All my family lives with me...4) ... What about to friends? Three of them. The rest no.5) ... What about to friends of friends? Oh heck no.6) Do you rent out your DVDs? I wish10) Do you own a popcorn machine and/or soda dispenser? No. I hate popcorn and I gave up soda.11) Do you or a friend invite others over for "Movie Night?" Yes. But we have it at Katrina's house, as she has the largest living room.12) Do you ever set DVDs as background noise not for focusing on them? No13) Have you ever printed out custom artwork for your case cover(s)? No14) Have you ever put off buying a needed item so you could buy a DVD? Yes15) Have you ever returned the wrong DVD to a rental or store? Don't Rent16) Have you ever returned an empty case? N/A17) Have you ever forgotten to return a DVD for an extended length? N/A18) Have you ever had a DVD stolen from you? No. Lost, yes - and those two people don't get to borrow any more.19) Have you ever accused someone of stealing a DVD from you? No20) Have you ever bought a DVD forgetting you already owned it? Yes. Not often, but it's happened.21) Have you ever traded DVDs with a friend for something other than money or DVDs? No22) Have you ever given a bundle of DVDs away as a gift? Yes23) Have you ever received a bundle of DVDs as a gift? Yes24) Have you ever found a DVD in your collection unsure how it got there? No25) Have you ever been cheated on a DVD purchase (eg: badly scratched, bootleg)? No - because of where I work I can return for any reason. So even when I've ended up with bootlegs, I can't say I was cheated because of the lovely returns.26) Have you ever received a DVD as a gift and returned it ASAP? No27) Have you ever double-dipped solely for new special features? Yes28) Have you ever watched two DVDs/movies at the same time? How? I only have one TV...29) Have you ever given away a movie ending just to make someone mad? No30) Have you ever turned subtitles on because you could not understand the words? Yes. No33) Have you ever forgotten about something important because of watching a movie? If so, it's still forgotten 34) Have you ever gotten rid of a DVD only for not liking the special features/artwork? Maybe. If I like the movie and an upgrade is available at my shop, I upgrade. If you consider that getting rid of the one because of it's lack of features, then so be it.35) What are your favorite movies in your collection? Hotaru no Haka, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Jin-Roh, Kokaku Kidotai, Watchmen, Interview with the Vampire, Rashomon, Star Trek III & IV36) What are your least favorites? Or I don't know?37) What is the most you ever paid for a DVD? $140, I think, for seasons of TNG when they first came out.38) What is the year in which you spent the most on DVDs? That's hard to say. Charts say it was last year - but I get a lot of my DVDs for the price of time, but still record it as the monetary price I would have paid. 39) What is the longest amount of time you have watched movies without a break? I have no idea. As far as TV shows go, it was one whole day in 1984.40) What is the largest number of DVDs you have bought at one time? I think somewhere around 20 or 30. These are all movies I got for $1 each.41) What is the oldest DVD-movie in your collection by production year? It practically gallops.""Forget regret / Or life is yours to miss / No other road / No other way / No day but today"43) How many DVDs are in your collection? Unsure on physical discs.44) How many unwatched DVDs are in your collection? A whole heck of a lot of them. I'm not admitting how many.45) How many double-dips do you have in your collection (2 copies is one double dip; 3 copies is 2)? 35, if I have counted right. This is not counting alternate cuts or DVD/Blu-ray combo packs. These are mostly from duplicates in public domain release box sets.46) How many TV seasons (broken down, not complete series) do you own? 201. Mostly single season anime series.47) Using Database Query, who is the most common actor/actress in your collection? ACTOR: John WayneACTRESS: Bess Flowers (ignoring uncredited: Bette Davis)48) ... | Posted: | | | | 1) Do you place your DVDs into cases with the label rotated straight? Nope, unless the artwork matches the box, then I will (Simpsons)
2) Do you keep the "toys" from special-release DVDs? Yup, why throw/give them away?
3) Do you lend out your DVDs to family? Not really.
4) ... What about to friends? I have one friend I trust enough to do this with, that's it.
5) ... What about to friends of friends? Um, that would be a negative.
6) Do you rent out your DVDs? Nope.
7) Do you more often give, sell, or keep unwanted DVDs? Hmm, don't have many of these, but I've given a couple away...great gifts!
8) Do you always store your DVDs in their original cases? Yes.
9) Do you have a theater room in your home? No, but eventually I will!
10) Do you own a popcorn machine and/or soda dispenser? Nope. Not a popcorn fan.
11) Do you or a friend invite others over for "Movie Night?" I have, but not regularly.
12) Do you ever set DVDs as background noise not for focusing on them? Yup, do this all the time with ones I've watched before. Rather than the tv on, I put on a movie.
13) Have you ever printed out custom artwork for your case cover(s)? No.
14) Have you ever put off buying a needed item so you could buy a DVD? No.
15) Have you ever returned the wrong DVD to a rental or store? Nope. I'm paranoid about this (though I only rent through the library) and always double check before returning.
16) Have you ever returned an empty case? Nope.
17) Have you ever forgotten to return a DVD for an extended length? No.
18) Have you ever had a DVD stolen from you? No
19) Have you ever accused someone of stealing a DVD from you? No
20) Have you ever bought a DVD forgetting you already owned it? I don't think so, I've a pretty good memory even before I used profiler.
21) Have you ever traded DVDs with a friend for something other than money or DVDs? No.
22) Have you ever given a bundle of DVDs away as a gift? Yes.
23) Have you ever received a bundle of DVDs as a gift? Yes.
24) Have you ever found a DVD in your collection unsure how it got there? No.
25) Have you ever been cheated on a DVD purchase (eg: badly scratched, bootleg)? Once...it was a gift for xmas for a family member and the "new" dvd turned out to scratched, opened and otherwise marked up. Returned it quite quickly and easily.
26) Have you ever received a DVD as a gift and returned it ASAP? I've had to do a replacement as the disc came scratched, but not a straight return.
27) Have you ever double-dipped solely for new special features? Yes.
28) Have you ever watched two DVDs/movies at the same time? No.
29) Have you ever given away a movie ending just to make someone mad? No.
30) Have you ever turned subtitles on because you could not understand the words? Yes. I don't buy dvds for subtitles, but they have come in handy when someone mumbles and I prefer them on foreign language films rather than dubs.
31) Have you ever used subtitles to try and learn another language? No.
32) Have you ever used a DVD for something other than playing it? Nope.
33) Have you ever forgotten about something important because of watching a movie? No.
34) Have you ever gotten rid of a DVD only for not liking the special features/artwork? No.
35) What are your favorite movies in your collection? Dirty Dancing, Princess Bride, Hairspray (original), The Wizard of Oz...I could go on for quite a while, so I'll quit right here.
36) What are your least favorites? Fever Lake. One reason and one reason only that I have this: My college is featured in the first 10 minutes and it's fun to watch because of that. I've never gotten past the first 30 minutes because of how awful this movie is.
37) What is the most you ever paid for a DVD? $84.39
38) What is the year in which you spent the most on DVDs? 2009 (as a side bit, this year is looking to be the least I've ever spent...)
39) What is the longest amount of time you have watched movies without a break? Couldn't tell you, but I've done tv marathans watching a season...
40) What is the largest number of DVDs you have bought at one time? Not sure, but probably about 10 or so, during Turkey Day.
41) What is the oldest DVD-movie in your collection by production year? 1891 (Edison: Invention of the Movies set)
42) What is/are your favorite movie line(s)/speech(es)? "This is not a tragedy. Tragedy is three men trapped in a mine, police dogs used in Birmingham. Monks burning themselves in protest."
43) How many DVDs are in your collection? 834, but I count box sets as one, not one per movie.
44) How many unwatched DVDs are in your collection? According to profiler, 543, but this is inflated because of child profiles and I didn't start using the watched as part right away.
45) How many double-dips do you have in your collection (2 copies is one double dip; 3 copies is 2)? 11, but 3 are from box sets, where I bought the movie as a stand alone, then I ended up with another copy b/c it was in with another movie I wanted and it was cheaper to buy both than getting it singly.
46) How many TV seasons (broken down, not complete series) do you own? 136ish
47) Using Database Query, who is the most common actor/actress in your collection? David Boreanaz (I have Angel, Buffy and Bones in my database).
48) ... Most common crew member? Joss Whedon. (See above, plus add Firefly).
49) ... Most common year of production? 1990's.
50) Using Database Query, what is the SRP of your collection? 26,477.96 | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | 1) Do you place your DVDs into cases with the label rotated straight? You mean other people do this too? Wow I though I was alone! For TV sets that I’m part way through watching I’ll also put the disc I’m on upside down so I can identify it easily…
2) Do you keep the "toys" from special-release DVDs? Of course; there’s no point in getting them otherwise
3) Do you lend out your DVDs to family? Yes
4) ... What about to friends? Some of them
5) ... What about to friends of friends? No way
6) Do you rent out your DVDs? No, that seems wrong (and FWIW, illegal)
7) Do you more often give, sell, or keep unwanted DVDs? Some of each; I’ll often give them away if I know someone who wants them, sell them if not but usually keep them on the shelf because I’m too lazy to do either!
8) Do you always store your DVDs in their original cases? Yes, unless the original case is damaged in which case I’ll try to get an identical replacement
9) Do you have a theatre room in your home? Not a dedicated room but my lounge has a nice big TV and surround sound system
10) Do you own a popcorn machine and/or soda dispenser? We have a popcorn machine… which incidentally we used yesterday for the first time in ages
11) Do you or a friend invite others over for "Movie Night?" No, not really, though my brother-in-law used to come around and watch some stuff when I was at home more often.
12) Do you ever set DVDs as background noise not for focusing on them? No, I use the TV or radio for background
13) Have you ever printed out custom artwork for your case cover(s)? Yes, though actually never got around to using them
14) Have you ever put off buying a needed item so you could buy a DVD? No, I get both – that’s what credit cards are for…
15) Have you ever returned the wrong DVD to a rental or store? No… but mostly because I very, very rarely rent
16) Have you ever returned an empty case? No
17) Have you ever forgotten to return a DVD for an extended length? Ah, yes… really should get around to watching the ones I got ages ago from the online rental place
18) Have you ever had a DVD stolen from you? No (touch wood) - I thought I might have done recently but I found it hiding in the bottom of a bag
19) Have you ever accused someone of stealing a DVD from you? No
20) Have you ever bought a DVD forgetting you already owned it? No… but I came vert close on a couple of occasions (luckily I had DVDP Mobile on me!)
21) Have you ever traded DVDs with a friend for something other than money or DVDs? No
22) Have you ever given a bundle of DVDs away as a gift? Yes
23) Have you ever received a bundle of DVDs as a gift? Every birthday and Christmas I get bundles of DVDs...
24) Have you ever found a DVD in your collection unsure how it got there? Not unsure how it got there as I assume I bought it, but I have been surprised by discovering a couple of things I owned that I forgot I had
25) Have you ever been cheated on a DVD purchase (eg: badly scratched, bootleg)? Just damaged cases mostly but one mis-pressing would have cost me more to return that just re-buy as it was an import...
26) Have you ever received a DVD as a gift and returned it ASAP? Yes… I do wish some people (OK one specific person) would either get things off my Wish List or at least check my Owned list before buying for me!
27) Have you ever double-dipped solely for new special features? Oh yes… the first time was The Replacement Killers purely for a commentary which I’ve still not listened to
28) Have you ever watched two DVDs/movies at the same time? Not movies but sometimes I’ll have more than one TV series on the go at one time, usually with one being an ‘easy watching’ ½ hour comedy, the other something that requires concentration
29) Have you ever given away a movie ending just to make someone mad? No… but I’ve been tempted…
30) Have you ever turned subtitles on because you could not understand the words? Regularly!
31) Have you ever used subtitles to try and learn another language? No, but that’s an excellent idea that I may use in future
32) Have you ever used a DVD for something other than playing it? No
33) Have you ever forgotten about something important because of watching a movie? Yes; years ago I totally forgot I had some university lectures one afternoon until halfway through the movie screening of Top Gun I was at… and I forget to go to bed all the time!
34) Have you ever gotten rid of a DVD only for not liking the special features/artwork? No
35) What are your favourite movies in your collection? Blade Runner, Lethal Weapon, Star Wars, Terminator 2, the Rock, LotR, Casablanca... and many more
36) What are your least favourites? Liquid Sky (I think I only keep it because it was so difficult to get hold of in the first place), Space Marines (rubbish without even any gratuitous nudity to keep the viewer interested), Ultraviolet (because it could have been really, really excellent and was massively sub-standard at best)
37) What is the most you ever paid for a DVD? £67 for each of the first two Star Trek: TNG seasons because I got them only a month after release back in 2002 when my collection was very small and I was impatient
38) What is the year in which you spent the most on DVDs? 2003, about £2700; that was for about 225 titles but nowadays I get over 300 titles per year but send about £1000 less by waiting for the prices to drop!
39) What is the longest amount of time you have watched movies without a break? Don’t tend to do non-breaking watching, though I recall 9 episodes of Miami Vice in one evening was going some
40) What is the largest number of DVDs you have bought at one time? Probably when HMV put lots of CSI DVDs on a £6 each offer and I ordered 10 sets that just about completed my CSI collection
41) What is the oldest DVD-movie in your collection by production year? As a movie it’s Dracula (US and Spanish versions) from 1931, though as part of a collection of Sex Education short films I have a copy of ‘Whatsoever a Man Soweth’ from 1917.
42) What is/are your favourite movie line(s)/speech(es)? Off the top of my head, Roy’s speech at the end of Blade Runner and most of the lines in The Princess Bride, but there will be many more! Oh, for example, from They Live “I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum”
43) How many DVDs are in your collection? 1934 titles (1=1 movie or 1 season of TV), discs is showing 3387 but I suspect that is low.
44) How many unwatched DVDs are in your collection? Ah… 727 titles (285 movies, 367 TV seasons, 75 documentaries or music) I’ve never seen (ie total blind buys)… and another 321 (227 movies, 91 TV seasons, 3 other) I’ve seen before but not watched on DVD.
45) How many double-dips do you have in your collection (2 copies is one double dip; 3 copies is 2)? 47 if you include stuff I’ve replaced with a BluRay. Lots of it is where I’ve bought a movie/TV season separately then found it’s cheaper to buy the ‘Full Set’ than to complete my collections of singles eg. I had 10 Carry On movies but found I could get the full 30 boxset for £40 instead of buying the missing 20 at over £3 each!
46) How many TV seasons (broken down, not complete series) do you own? 858 full seasons
47) Using Database Query, who is the most common actor/actress in your collection? Well, with TV, Tom Baker (41 appearances, 39 of which are TV, mostly Doctor Who) or for movies Clint Eastwood (37 appearances, 35 of which are movies – not a surprise since he’s a favourite of me and my wife) but overall it comes out as Nicholas Briggs because he is the interviewer in a series of 67 documentary DVDs I have!
48) ... Most common crew member? Ron Grainer since he is the composer of the Doctor Who theme so appears 97 times (89 of which are for Doctor Who)… Dudley Simpson did the Who incidental music for years so has 62 entries. Just for movies it’s a tie at 30 between Gerald Thomas (directing all the Carry On films) and Peter Rogers (who produced them all!).
49) ... Most common year of production? 2005 and 2006 both have 38 movies (with TV seasons included too the draw is 2006 and 2007 with 78 each)
50) Using Database Query, what is the SRP of your collection? I have some different currencies so it’s a tiny bit out, but the total is about (takes deep breath) £45,370 … I think I need a lie down! | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong | | | Last edited: by Voltaire53 |

| Posted: | | | | Funny thing I discovered involving question 20 (Have you ever bought a DVD forgetting you already owned it?)
A few months ago I had bought Idle Hands on DVD only to discover it was the full screen version and being a purist, I wanted the widescreen version so I went on the Amazon Marketplace and picked one up on the cheap. Artwork was in poor condition but the disc had some light scratches and played fine so I just switched the FS artwork. Anyway, this morning I was going through some DVDs and tucked away in a little box was... Idle Hands, WS/FS flipper disc like the one I had bought used except this one was in pristine condition (both the disc and artwork) so I must have bought it years ago new before Sony switched it out for FS only versions.
I can laugh at this since I only paid a few bucks for the other but I can only shake my head. |

| Posted: | | | | I will admit freely this program has stopped me from buying the same thing I already have again. I wish it fully worked on blackberry, but at least I can look at my online collection on that, which has saved my $ a couple times, esp when Hollywood Video was closing. |

36) What are your least favorites? Smokey & The Bandit 3 - both for least favourite "movie" and least favourite DVD. It's non-anamorphic, has really poor picture quality, and the movie itself utterly sucks too. I only own it cause it's part of a box set, and doesn't have individual packaging.
