| Posted: | | | | The original plan was a theatrical release for the first part while part two and three were made for TV (hence the smaller budgets). Due to the popular reception of the first part, they decided to release all three films theatrically but also prepared extended TV versions that would be aired later.
I have seen both versions (except for part three which I only saw on TV) and I don't think the TV versions are essential viewing, but then I'm not a huge fan of the films. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Jykke: Quote: If not yet available in your country, wait for the Extended Editions. Each film includes lots of extra scenes not included in the standard editions (theatrical version). Extended Editions are over 3 hours long. They should be identical with the tv version. They started showing the tv version here in Finland today. Each movie is split in four episodes. JFTR, this sunday evening at 22:00, ZDF (HD) begins with the broadcast of the original tv version, each movie is split in two episodes with about 87/88 minutes runtime net per episode. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played.
