| | Posted: | | | | I have 16 (right now) OOP Criterions, the hardest to find I think is Flesh for Frankenstein.
I have some titles that no one else here seems to, such as Kentucky's Last Great Places: A Kentucky Life Special and 4 of the releases from 2 Million Minutes. I don't know if that makes them particularly rare.
Some of the various anime releases I have at one point or another have gone for stupid amounts on Amazon. A number of those are currently out of print.
The rarest piece on my wishlist is the widescreen edition of The Slipper and the Rose, an old Richard Chamberlain film. It's generally on Amazon for around $60, and I'm just not willing to pay that much. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

Savage Streets 2disc SE might be the most valuable so far. Thursday used to be, but bootlegs have hurt the real deal prices, I used to sell those for around $150 on ebay, now they're around $40-60.
How did you get hold of so many copys of Thursday? Luck and paying retail or more. I had pre-ordered it, but that never showed up so I grabbed one from Media Play for myself after a few days. Couple weeks later I noticed they were already OOP and found one copy each at all 3 Borders in town. |

| | Posted: | | | | I have no idea which DVDs in my collection are rare, but in a 4000+ collection built up since DVD was introduced there are bound to be some - I suppose. I have a bunch of old Criterions that probably are OOP, but whether they are rare or not, I don't know.

Wow, I didn't realize how rare the Original Trilogy has gotten ($100+ on Amazon Marketplace and $60+ on ebay). I paid $35 at Wal-Mart back in November... I expect in 10 years after all the idiots have scratched most of the copys to death. You can expect $400 to $600 dollars. And in 20 years given Lucas might be dead by then over $1000. Well, if Lucas dies then maybe rational minds will prevail and they'll release it on whatever format is the standard. Of course I wouldn't rule out him putting together some kind of contract that the OT ever be released even after his death... |

Well, if Lucas dies then maybe rational minds will prevail and they'll release it on whatever format is the standard. Of course I wouldn't rule out him putting together some kind of contract that the OT ever be released even after his death... Given he screwed Fox out of getting any money from merchandise.
