| Posted: | | | | I'm a user of Book Collector and wish I wasn't. At first it was great...you can use cue cat to scan in barcodes and had a lot of info involved. But I've found as I've used it over the last couple years that the info is often wrong...esp. page numbers. You also have to pay for upgrades and while once in a while wouldn't be bad, they do it several times a year. Also, unless you gush over their product, the programmers/customer service people have no interest in helping and tend criticize the person making the complaint/question.
At this point, I have to much time and effort into it to give it up without a good reason, but if I could easily convert to another program, I'd be tempted. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | Well, thanks for all the additional suggestions, guys.
I'm in the middle of a major house clear/clear/tidy so I don't have time to do a serious evaluation of all the suggestions at the moment so since there is no clear consensus I will defer a purchase decision for a few weeks until I can spend a bit more time doing a solid evaluation. I have enough books that I will be pretty well committed once I have indexed them & I don't want to end up in LJG's position. |
