At first I thought it seemed counter productive as they would lose the money that went into the initial pressing of the discs but then it occurred to me that they could re-use those discs in the re-release. The only real loss would be the printed cover. Factor in Warners new found hard on for burn on demand. It could be there intention to OOP many of there back catalogue titles, then add them to there list of burn on demand titles. While on the general release front focusing on there biggest titles, releasing them for a limited time. | | | Last edited: by ShinyDiscGuy |

While on the general release front focusing on there biggest titles, releasing them for a limited time. Umm...they've been doing this for a while now. Granted, it's pretty old catalog stuff so far but the precedence was set some time ago. They obviously have some sort of minimum press number. Once a title runs out, if they figure future sales won't meet that number, burnt disc it becomes. They've also been OOPing single discs and creating those quad packs. |

It completely screws up/inflates the CLT. FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that. Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it! | | | Last edited: by huskersports |

A little follow-up: bought HP7.1 für 7,50€ last week and HP7.2 for 9,99€ just now (both bargains at Amazon.de) so I'm all set and Warner-Marketing can "pull of the shelves" and do "Definitive Collections" 'til they get blue ... cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |
