| Posted: | | | | I have no problems, but threads are different, example 64 bit programs (Program Files) are separate from 32 bt programs (Program Files (v86)) besides the DVD Profiler thread under Program Files (v86)
you'll have a user thread User Administrator Default James (my name) AppData ...... ...... My Documents DVD Profiler CreditPhotos Databases Default Images Thumbnails Pending DB 2 Filters Flags Layouts Reports ..... Public | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. | Posted: | | | | This is actually a question about Firefox. When I go to transfer everything over to the laptop. Is there anyway to back-up and transfer all the passwords I have saved in firefox? I found how to back-up the bookmarks but not the passwords. | | | Pete |

I would have thought you could just use Sync - you can store your passwords and then download them back. see http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How%20to%20sync%20Firefox%20settings%20between%20computers?as=uI've only used it to sync between computers but I can't see why it wouldn't work - as long as its storing them online somewhere.. | | | Paul | | | Last edited: by pauls42 |

Don't forget to install it on your laptop too, otherwise you can't import them |

| Posted: | | | | For Firefox I always save and restore the complete profile, located (on Windows7) in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles - not sure where it is on WinXP. On the new system I start Firefox once so it creates a new profile and copy all files from the old one to the new one - passwords, history, etc. included. | | | |

| Posted: | | | | BTW, once you have run Windows Update, and you think you have them all up to date - run it again.
Then, if it finds more updates, when that is finished....
Run it again
Repeat until it says there are no updates :D | | | Signature? We don't need no stinking... hang on, this has been done... blast [oooh now in Widescreen] Ah... well you see.... | Posted: | | | | I had a small issue way back when Win7 just came out ( See the Win7 64bit threads in the help area ) but it was quickly fixed and have not had a peep since.
Most of the newer browsers have some migration features or how to's so it shouldn't been too bad.
Something big that kinda changed in win7/Vista was how data is handled, and was kinda mention a few post ago, once you install software all data goes back to your user space, I have had some issues with a few small programs that I run trying to save reports to the directory it was run from.
Hope the transfer of data goes smooth for you !
You will like win7 it actually works well.

| Posted: | | | | I been using this computer for a couple weeks now... and I have to say... I can't believe the difference with DVD Profiler alone! I timed the opening of DVD Profiler on both the old and new computer.... Old Computer: 5 Min!!! (which I been used to for quite a while now) New Computer: 15 Seconds!!!! For the record... between Owned, Ordered and Wishlist sections... and between parent and child profiles I have 6,222 profiles. And the opening isn't the only difference. Filtering is super fast... so is bring up cast and crew names in the edit screen come right up... where before I would have the whole name typed before the first 2 or 3 letters showed. Now it works as you would expect. I tell ya... I think I am now more in love with DVD Profiler then I was before! | | | Pete |
