Quote: Former Secretary of State [for George W. Bush] Colin Powell announced Sunday that he will be voting for Sen. Barack Obama, citing the Democrat's "ability to inspire" and the "inclusive nature of his campaign."
"He has both style and substance. I think he is a transformational figure," Powell said on NBC's "Meet the Press."
"Obama displayed a steadiness. Showed intellectual vigor. He has a definitive way of doing business that will do us well," Powell said.
Powell, a retired U.S. general and a Republican, was once seen as a possible presidential candidate himself.
Powell said he questioned Sen. John McCain's judgment in picking Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate because he doesn't think she is ready to be president.
That's quite the kick in the balls for McCain...
KM No, it isn't. Powell is what is known as a RINO -- a 'Republican in Name Only'. Despite the fact that his whole career and adult life is due to Republicans, like most Affirmative Action types, he tends to be less than appreciative of the opportunities he's been given, and bites the hand that feeds him. | | | John

To sway any of the remaining persuadable voters would require Obama to screw up in a way that seems vastly unlikely given his diciplined campaign to date. An October suprise won't do it, it would take an October shocker. (Obama confessing that he eats babies, evidence of a secret marriage to Osama Binladen, an alien invastion, etc...) Right, that's why McCain is gaining, closing to a dead even statistical tie, and that's why Biden is saying that our enemies will test Obama with a "created crisis" because he is weak and untried, and Obama has admitted he wants to socialize the US "by spreading the wealth" around. Obama has put out a coherent message alright -- that he has no business being president. | | | John

Unless McCain can take away some 100 electoral votes away from Obama on election day, Obama will be the next president.
Electoralvote.com Says who? Nobody knows how any of those states will vote. There are at least half a dozen that have been oscillating back and forth for weeks. The Democrats are pulling out the stops trying to steal this election, but regardless of all that the media says, nothing will be decided until Nov. 4. | | | John
