The above is wrong: the second Bob Sheppard, the musician, doesn't appear in our database (just check the CLT), nor should he be. The alledged credit in 'La La Land' isn't a cast credit, but a crew credit - he's a musician credited for playing on the film's score. There are musicians appearing on-screen as well, so the confusion is understandable, but those musicians, the ones appearing on-screen, are actually credited for that as part of the cast - but Bob Sheppard is not among them - he's only credited for playing on the film's score, and that alsone doesn't qualify for a cast entry. As such, there isn't a single 'La La Land' that lists him, and correctly so. Since that only leaves one Bob Sheppard in the database, no birth year is needed, nor allowed. Both IMDB as Wikipedia name 1962 as BY. The amazone link doesn't name a BY at all. I cam't find any other proof. So is there somebody who can confirm if 1962 or 1963 is the correct BY?

This is a tough one. The Amazon-link refers to an entirely different person named Jim Taylor, so that one doesn't help us. The eNotes-link doesn't give any information anymore. That leaves us with:

IMDb says it's 1962, while Wikipedia lists both birth years:



Wikipedia links to this article from the Pomona College Magazine as a source for this birth year. That article is from spring 2005 and states that he's 42 at that time. That would lead to 1963, but it still depends on his actual birth date. So theoretically, either could be correct - short of someone contacting him somehow, there's no way of being sure. I do know that I have profiles for nine films with the 1963 BY accepted into it, and nothing really "hard" enough here to warrant a change to all of those, right?
