| Posted: | | | | IMO, there's no need to change the pament plan for DVDP.
Especially after the lawsuit, the company's calculations regarding revenues should be very much up to date, and obviously the program does create a decent enough income for Ken to fly solo, get drawn to court, settle by bying the former company, keep improving the program, work ridiculous hours and still keep an air of easy going when writing in his forums...
Just for a second, think about the amount of cash the V 3.0 will create if the majority of the former users of the free version 2.4 sign up now because they have more than 50 DVDs. According to the court papers, there's approx. 590,000 users, and regardless if the number is off by even more than 100,000, you're still looking at awfully big numbers. Do the math yourself....
As for me, I'm satisfied with the program, I'm also content with the deal I made upon purchase. Obviously, so is Ken, otherwise he wouldn't have kept up the development and taken the business to a new level.
All those thinking the program is worth MORE than they paid for, be it another one time payment, an annual update or service fee, or whatever, just send cash to Ken's place, the address is well known after the litigation. I'm sure he won't mind finding some dough in his mail every day.... | | | Lutz |

| Posted: | | | | Almost all the software I own has a yearly renewal fee, which in some cases is very high and not always worth the money paid, and I would definitely NOT be averse to paying something like that for this software. It would be worth it for what we get! I appreciate that we have all, where appropriate, purchased lifetime of upgrades but, in my opinion, this software would be really worth paying more for especially when you consider the benefit to us, the users. | | | <---------Mithrandir, Laverne and Shirley Caroline |
