| Posted: | | | | Herr or Frau Kahless, Quote: the point is: I see your time stamp with MY local time: 05:28 PM (17:28h). Your local time is 9 hrs back - so you write this in the morning time and me in the evening time So you add 9 hrs. to the time stamp (Invelos) which gives you, current time in Germany, then have 12 hrs. to post? Then each player would have to know, how many time zones, from the server (Invelos, time stamp), confusion would be not when your time frame to post is, problem for the other players to figure if you posted within the alloted time frame. We will have to ban, players who live on the other side of the International Dateline, would cause super confusion. Quote: Just another idea: why do we need a posting order? The time zone thingy gets more confusing, as the lat post (respond to) could be from any time zone. As opposed to knowing just one. Example Rico > Kahless 'Kahless would only need to know Rico's time zone. Quote: It's more fun if everyone can respond to every one signed for the game. This could speed up the game very much, more errors are possible and maybe the poster with the most correct postings is the winner It's more fun when the game goes quicker! Order we must have ORDER - lol. Regarding the most correct answers, the easy 'letters' win. The strategy (win) is to steer an opponent to the hard 'letters' "x, q, z, etc.) to elminate him/her. Last man standing via process of elmination, is better than rapid poster. Assume 12 hr response time allows 8 hrs for work (assume can't post at work) + 4 hrs to get a post in. Adjusted for time zone, in order. Seems ok to me, but I'm still confused about the time thing. Perhaps a mini game is in order, to test the time thing. So you add 9 hrs. to the time stamp (Invelos) which gives you, current time in Germany, then have 12 hrs. to post? No, you have 12 hours to post from the timestamp! Your post shows up here as posted 9:33 PM. I'm writing this at 12:17 AM, and that is the time it shows me. When you look at my post, it wil NOT show 12:17 AM, because you are 9 hours behind (according to Kahless (Which I thought was Klingon and dead, not German and alive)) - so to you, it shows 3:17 PM. | | | The future is here. | Posted: | | | | o.k. I will not capitulate let's make an example: Player A (living in Taka Tuka Land) posting 06:00h PM local time -> timestamp Player B (living in Far Far Away) 03:00h AM local time Timeframe 12hrs -> corresponds timestamp Player B 03:00h PM Assuming Player B does not use the computer around the clock and cannot post during work he actually has a very, very limited timeframe for respond. So some experts could use the posting times with the resulting time differences to increase their chance of winning | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: by kahless |

| Posted: | | | | A free for all would make it more difficult to decide who is out etc.
As for timezones we all see the times as for our own zones, so allowing 12 hours from the last post seems reasonable as most of us seem to be in the US or European zones. There are a couple in the Australia zone and if we all have our countries listed we can see who would need 24 hours gap for a post - eg if previous poster is in US and next in Australia, 24 hours is needed but otherwise 12 should be sufficient.
What do you think? | | | <---------Mithrandir, Laverne and Shirley Caroline |

Au contraire mon chere fact is: "free to all" increases the game speed dramatically. Postings can be every minute or hour. This can be "dangerous" for the players if replying too fast and wrong, more errors are possible and when applying strict rules they can be out very fast. What about specifying a number of minimum and/or maximum postings. Too less postings: out, to much postings out as well! So Caroline, if you would post to me, this is not a problem, assuming that you do this during the day But if I had to wait for Rico's posting as mentioned in my example, I could get in trouble.. | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: by kahless |

| Posted: | | | | Roundup all the "Usual Suspects",
Let's do a 5 day test:
Rico > Caroline > Byates1 > Rander > Kahless > Rico "ONLY"
I'll start a new thread Friday 'FunGame-Test' also before Friday I'll PM all 5 players noting starting time & name of thread. If anything needs to be more descriptive or informative etc., no problem. Do I add or subtract nein hours?

Do I add or subtract nein hours? Rico If you would like to know the time in Europe/South Africa you have to add 9hrs to your local time. E.g. 10:56 PM (PST) -> 07:56 AM (MEZ) BTW: may I make the proposition that "local" letters like Ø, Å, æ, ö, ü etc. are not allowed. These should be translated, e.g.: Å to Aa and ü to ue. If not the game could stop instantly if somebody post: Theodor Übelkrähe | | | Thorsten |

| Posted: | | | | Hi Guys,
Do you think it would work, speed the game up, if we arranged the order via time zones, sequential or as close as can be to sequential?

| Posted: | | | | Hallo Rico! Now we have learned that the time zones are a limiting factor concerning the game speed. It's obvious: when you in USA have a morning coffee we have in GER/DK/SA a night cup.
So, what can we do to speed up the game? My proposal is: everyone can answer to everyone. This is not as boring as it sounds. The winner could be the one with the most correct answers within a specified time limit?! Looking forward to your proposals! My very best regards to USA, Denmark and South Africa!!! | | | Thorsten |
